I've been aboard her twice. Once in the 50s when she was headed to Bremerton for mothballing the first time, and when she was waiting in the Columbia River to be towed to Hawaii.

My father-in-law was a plankowner and a chief gunner. He got to come up for a private tour while it was still in Bremerton. He actually missed the surrender because he was assigned to escort some Japanese photographers who were taking some pictures at the Yokohama Navy Base. He still got a card saying he was there. :)
