Adorama Used/Trade - No Deal, but They Won't Return Our Equipment

I'm sorry to read that your trade in experience was not as expected. I can certainly chase to get your gear returned tomorrow, but can you please clarify - as you received an excellent appraisal - what is the reason you have changed your mind? My email is Helen@adorama.com

Without knowing the facts, it’s difficult to evaluate complaints. When a customer complaint is escalated to me at work—my impressions / experiences seldom mesh with either the client or the call supervisor.

Adorama’s Used/Trade website states:
“If a deal is not made, we will return the merchandise to you, fully insured at our expense."
This is also in-line with what Adorama Used/Trade dept. told us (recorded).

However, after requesting twice, in writing, the return of our equipment and a UPS tracking number, Adorama will not comply with our request and is holding our equipment, requesting that we call Jack. This is not necessary, as we have in writing two requests, no deal-return our equipment.

It is abundantly clear in our written requests, that our equipment be returned to us, in the condition that we sent it, that no deal is to be made and that a tracking number be sent immediately, however, Adorama Used/Trade will not return the equipment.

There is no offer verbal or in writing, that has been accepted by either party.

We have photos and serial numbers of all equipment, have expressed in writing twice, that there is no deal with the Adorama Used/Trade dept., and yet they still will not return our equipment. All communications with Adorama are recorded and retained.

Cannot recommend Adorama Used/Trade.

Hello older thread here but if by chance you get this I was wondering whatever became of your story if you would not mind to share?

I am going through pretty much the same thing. I believe they lost my gear. Jack Gold was not really part of my deal but did make an appearance after the fact to offer me an even more worse ridiculously low amount for my gear. I have emailed and mailed called and called they flat out ignore me and my requests. I have requested my gear be returned as I would not accept their offer. I received half of my property back I mailed in 2 boxes 1 was returned. I have requested all paperwork recordings anything that they would have on everything dealing with my property intake/inventory, evaluation, invoices, reciepts etc. I have all emails and my inventory of what I sent in. They will not respond to me and I think I am gonna have to go into small claims court and file.

Came across this in my research and thought to ask and see if anyone may see this and respond. Hope it worked out for you thanks

If / when you get your equipment back, consider the auto-quote process at KEH.com. You'll likely get a better understanding of the wholesale pricing (aka 'blue book' value) of used camera equipment, especially consumer-grade models. Selling to a reseller is the quickest way to get paid, but also the method least likely to maximize funds.

The UHH account name is 'Nancy Miller', not person-x. So, the only relevant reference is that reported name.
