I particularly like this one as the camera picked out the detail of the image at such a distance.

I love flying up the Hudson River and this one Sunday decided to circle the Statue of Liberty for the first time. I flew around it at an altitude of 500 ft. above the Hudson... It was kind of surreal...

550D, ISO 100, 180mm, F5.6@1/640ss and I'm glad the image stabilization was on!

Very cool shot but while you were at the flying controls!!?

Hi all, this is purely for the viewing of others who might glem some ideas from yr photo. It's not a competition, who's is best etc etc just post yr favoutite photo (only one please) you took yourself. It can be an old, new, night or daytime, colour or black & white photo whatever.

All I ask is the following that the photo is in it's original state ie with no work on it at all. You can put "store original" (Download) if you wish.

Please Note: If you want to work on someone's photo to see what you can do with it please ask the owners permission first.

If you want to please add a brief description as to:
what:
where:
when:
how (camera settings):

My fav picture is:

what: a Dragonfly
where: probably from own back garden pond
when: summer 2009
how (camera settings): used an Olympus Tough hand held pic taken about 2 inches away from it.

Many thanks for yr indulgence.

Baz

Thanks for sharing Horseart, V nice wings. Maybe you could start a new post "Picture of your pond" but add no "Backyards". :-)

That is one spectacular shot of Sandy.

What a wonderful group of pictures by people who know their craft. I like that there are several subjects covered as favorites. In the months I have been on the HOG I hope I have gotten to be better at my hobby. I know I have gotten better at "seeing" what I am looking at. Thank you everyone.

Glad it's been of use Fla Walt. As I had requested in the beginning all to best of my knowledge have been an owners original photo. Going by the comments others are also enjoying the change. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I will put all of them it to some kind presentation in about a months time or when it reaches 50.

Shot across McKinnis bayou over the marshlands on the MS gulf coast.

Although my daughter was standing on a pier. I lowered the exposure later in post to darken the pier. With the darkened version it gave the illusion she was walking across the water.

This is the original.

The background has subsequently been used in several composites of mine.
