Hi all, this is purely for the viewing of others who might glem some ideas from yr photo. It's not a competition, who's is best etc etc just post yr favoutite photo (only one please) you took yourself. It can be an old, new, night or daytime, colour or black & white photo whatever.
All I ask is the following that the photo is in it's original state ie with no work on it at all. You can put "store original" (Download) if you wish.
Please Note: If you want to work on someone's photo to see what you can do with it please ask the owners permission first.
If you want to please add a brief description as to:
what:

how (camera settings):
My fav picture is:
what: a Dragonfly
where: probably from own back garden pond
when: summer 2009
how (camera settings): used an Olympus Tough hand held pic taken about 2 inches away from it.
Many thanks for yr indulgence.

Dragonfly
Blue Butterfly bush (Rotheca myricoides)
From a frontal view, this flower resembles a butterfly with blue wings, and back-swept antennae. I find this side-view more interesting. Approximately 1:1 magnification (life-size). Note mist swirling in upper left quadrant.
Photographed at the South Coast Botanic Garden, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Los Angeles County, California.
Hand-held Nikon D5000 at ISO 200, Nikkor 105D macro lens, 1/50-sec at f/16, overcast sky & Nikon SB-600 Speedlight with O-Flash 3/4-circle Fresnel prism attachment.

Thanks for joining in Nikonian72.
Yr photo is absolutely gorgeous m8. Nice to see so much information as well. Unfortunately I don't recall there being such a beauty here in the UK, best I start researching UK's botanical gardens.

I had just had ear surgery, and couldn't surf for 3months. I went down to the beach to take pictures of my son and brother, when I notice a friend of mine paddling out. He was nicely silhouetted w/ a nice wave breaking to his left. Even though it looks like a black & white, it is the original color. Taken with a Canon 30D, 1/3200 sec @ f13 ISO 400 250mm zoon lens. One of my favorite pictures...
My new born grand son Robert at age 9-days.
Canon t1i, 50mm f/1.8, 1/30 second, f/1.8. Hand held under in home window light.
Made this week-end while shopping, got bored while waiting. Made with pple G3 phone.

On the spur of the moment photograph. Having just awoken and bleary eyed, I was eating breakfast and my irlfriend decided to photograph some orchids that were suddenly backlit with a shaft of sunshine from the kitchin window. T used her camera handheld and got some fabulous shots, She goaded me into making an effort and I shot my pics on a tripod, Canon Rebel XT ( 6 years old) Manual exposure 1/20th sec at f16 I believe. I was delighted with the pics until I saw T's effort. A little post processing (upping contrast) with Paint Shop Pro.
Not brilliant at all but the brief was "Favorite Photo" not best photo.

Some of you have messed with it better than I.

I love flying up the Hudson River and this one Sunday decided to circle the Statue of Liberty for the first time. I flew around it at an altitude of 500 ft. above the Hudson... It was kind of surreal...
550D, ISO 100, 180mm, F5.6@1/640ss and I'm glad the image stabilization was on!

V impressive shot, the day AFTER Sandy passed Wow. Would not have wanted to have been there taking the photo the day before.
