In my experience it depends on the driver, not company policy.

Like I said My concern was/is not about the delivery being "late", it's about how they leave the parcel, When there is a sign on my door KNOCK HARD I AM HOME!!, had I not heard the truck in my driveway the Monitor would have sat there in plain sight for everyone to see. The second Problem is their customer service is lousy After I finally found the phone number I get somebody that has a very heavy accent and talks so fast you can't understand them, and then they say I'm sorry the package will be delivered tomorrow Okay?.
I have never had a problem with UPS since their inception, they knock Hard, leave small parcels in the fridge on the porch, And I do know the arrival time is an estimate, but once I get the message IT'S OUT FOR delivery it should make it that day, Barring bad/slick/snow covered roads "other acts of God"
BTW I live out in the country my nearest neighbor is close to a half mile away by road and you need a binoculars to see a person in their yard. I'm not bitching I like it this way.
Like I said My concern was/is not about the delive... (show quote)

Very frustrating when you are told your package is out for delivery and it is a no-show. I called FedEx and they said their drivers do not deliver past 8pm, you may get it tomorrow...

Fedex is taking pictures of where they deliver your package. They were supposed to deliver my Canon 600mm lens and like you I never got it and the picture from the tracking number does not match my front door. I didn't ask for fedex Amazon sent it that way and now I'm not paying for something I didn't get. I wish Fedex would go out of business now. They suck big time in my book. This happened about three weeks ago. You can call them but they turn it around and say it's your fault. I didn't get any where with them. They just plain don't care!

So, you wish tens of thousands of people lose their livelihood because you didn't get your lens. You are right about not paying for something you didn't get. Let the shipper and the retailer figure it out. But wishing bad things happen to so many people, the vast majority of which had nothing to do with your shipping/delivery issues, now that sucks in most books.

Not something I have had to deal with over the last 20+ years thankfully.
Our community is private and we have a posted gate with a large package shed.
Everything gets signed for by our guard... we get a text...jump on the bike or car...go pick them up.

Not sure if I could go back to the 'regular' way now.

Same with garbage too...no trucks rolling around our community. It makes for quiet days...which is why we are here.

I have a new monitor coming from B&H due to arrive yesterday. Note says I may have to sign for the package
Carrier: FedX, usually arrives a bit after 3:00PM never knocks on the door, sometimes puts the package in an Old GE Fridge I have on the front porch for that purpose .No reason to tempt Porch Pirates. :sm08
Yesterday I stayed home from 2:30 pm on. With a sign on the door KNOCK HARD I AM HOME!! not a sound, about 5:00 pm or so I looked in the fridge and found a small box with my Clartin (always delivered by guess who). but no monitor.
Checked tracking : Out for delivery 7:30 am Wonder what happened?
Too early to see if it's out for delivery this morning.

Just checked tracking Says it's out for delivery
I have a new monitor coming from B&H due to ar... (show quote)

yep, par for the course! From my own experiences, "delivered" doesn't always mean delivered!

I had fed ex drop off a 70 inch tv stand with fireplace and a 2x3 ft mirror on the side of my house.the idiot didn't knock,Ring the doorbell , take a picture, or text me.the tv stand is valued at $749 and the mirror about $200. I spent over $150 for a doorbell that has over 16 different rings but these idiots never use it.i know all this cause we were in the living room doing some Xmas decorating and had finish so we decided to rest a bit when the wife saw the monitor and told me that there were some packages outside.i looked back at the video and that's what happened. I called fed ex and reported the incident.i have been told by other companies that they don't ring the doorbell cause of covid.

I have also put sign saying knock hard and no knock because they can't read or will not read the sign. And that goes for Fedex, UPS and USPS. USPS puts the wrong mail in my mail box cause they can't read all the time. If I did my job like this I would not have a job. This has been going on for years here.

My local drivers still do!

My FedEx driver places small packages in plastic bags and ties them on to tree branches. Larger packages are just dumped into snowbanks.

They are taking pictures of where they leave the packages. A lot of good that does. Go check your tracking after the delivery to see it.

Nobody rings the door bell anymore. I've also had packages left on the porch - where anyone can take them - that are supposed to require a signature but were just left. Sad customer service....

I am in Quebec, Canada and our local Amazon delivery guy always knocks on our door. They also email when the package is out for delivery.
