Amazon don't deliver out here they pass it off to UPS and my UPS driver is fantastic!!! He even takes time to pat Murphy on the head.

The USPS here has a contract with some carriers to deliver small packages.

I don't like bell ringing if he's just leaving the package. I can usually hear the truck, and the dog barks. Otherwise, email tells me that it was delivered.

But if its left in plain sight it could disappear
Murphy lets me know when they pull in the drive if he is in the house if he is out back he may or may not bark and I can't hear him half the time.
But Like I said I stay home when I have big item coming!!!
If they have two attempted delivery rule its over 160 mile round trip to the FedX hub so it could be on its way back to B&H by the time I got there the next morning.

I thought this was sort of funny, well, comical. UPS left a tall package leaning up against the front door. There was no way to open the door without causing the package to move. Luckily, I was able to reach around and grab the it before it fell. I could have gone out through another door, but I took a chance.

Wait til they leave one leaning against the inside door and you can't see it

[quote=Manglesphoto]I have a new monitor coming from B&H due to arrive yesterday. Note says I may have to sign for the package
Carrier: FedX, usually arrives a bit after 3:00PM never knocks on the door,

UPS Still knocks on my door. FedEx never has, ever. On-time delivery has gone out the door with both UPS and FedEx. USPS is abismal. In the last 6 months, USPS has lost 10 packages, delayed another 4 or 5. I use "Informed Delivery" for USPS and it is not very accurate. On 4 occasions an the last 5 months an item was listed as out for delivery by 8PM on a Friday. On Monday the item was in Texas, 1500 miles away. Go figure?

I receive texts for all deliveries. I'm notified it has shipped and expected time for delivery and one when it has been delivered, frequently with a photo. I have no complaints or issues with UPS, Amazon or FedEx. Of course, my location is likely the reason for prompt service.

After many years of using FedEx, UPS, and USPS I have found FedEx to be the least reliable. If the shipper allows a choice I do not choose FedEx.

Sometimes they leave the package by the side door, or in front of the garage. I have to walk outside to see it. It was so much nicer when we got morning deliveries from the same guy.

I've never had any serious problems with deliveries from FedEx or UPS or USPS at my home or work. When I ran the shipping department at work, years ago, we shipped thousands of packages a week and many of them went by FedEx and mis shipments were practically unheard of. You folks do realize that the shipping times you get are estimates and by no stretch of the imagination carved in stone. The carrier has no good way of knowing exactly how long it will take to complete a delivery because there are simply too many variables they have little to no control over.

The new monitor is connected and working !!!!
Tomorrow we'll see how it works for my focus stacking using Live View and Smart Shooter 4 tether.

Different FedX driver today, why It wasn't delivered yesterday ( from FedX yesterday Out for delivery)I got one package delivered by FedX yesterday why the monitor wasn't delivered I don't know.
I did talk to the new driver and ask him to knock Harder, had I not heard the truck I would not have known he had delivered and left the monitor on the porch facing the road, This is my biggest gripe, its like putting a sign out there HERE I AM TAKE ME HOME WITH YOU, this is why I do everything I can to be home when a Large or expensive item is to be delivered. we'll see what happens the next time. The old GE fridge is out there for small packages to be put outta sight.

After the post office reduced its hours at our small local office, mail deliveries really slowed down. A deputy came to my work and served a summons for not showing up for jury duty. Six days after the jury duty date, it finally showed up. Fortunately the judge believed my story. What may have helped was when I told him it took three days for planer blades I ordered to go from California to central Missouri and six months for them to make the 30 miles from there to my post office.

I'm glad you received your package intact and in a relatively timely manner.
I'm sure delivery times and the like are regional. Like Mark from New Jersey, I also live in a suburb of Philadelphia, albeit on the PA side of the mighty Delaware river, and for the most part every FedEx, UPS and USPS shipment I receive is pretty much on time. They always open my front gate, leave the package at the front door and close the gate behind them. Same goes for the Amazon drivers. There have been a few times when I wasn't home when a signature is required, and they leave a note on the door and drop the package off at a local pick up location where I can sign for it and pick it up when I'm available to do so.
I wonder how many folks actually realize just how many packages companies like FedEx handle in one day. Years ago when I worked in my employer's shipping department, we had FedEx pick up in the late afternoon and then we dropped off dozens of overnight packages at the FedEx terminal by the Philadelphia International airport. The place is huge and there were trucks coming and going all hours of the day and night. At the really busy times, which were the months of January, July and the first week of the other months, FedEx would drop off airplane shipping containers. We would fill the containers and FedEx would pick them up the same day and off to Memphis they went to FedEx's central hub. They move an amazing amount of packages in a day and it's absolutely amazing they can deliver to almost anywhere in the contiguous USA in such a short time, usually 48 hours or less.

Yesterday I stayed home from 2:30 pm on. With a sign on the door KNOCK HARD I AM HOME!! not a sound, about 5:00 pm or so I looked in the fridge and found a small box with my Clartin (always delivered by guess who). but no monitor.
Checked tracking : Out for delivery 7:30 am Wonder what happened?
Too early to see if it's out for delivery this morning.

Just checked tracking Says it's out for delivery

Fedex is taking pictures of where they deliver your package. They were supposed to deliver my Canon 600mm lens and like you I never got it and the picture from the tracking number does not match my front door. I didn't ask for fedex Amazon sent it that way and now I'm not paying for something I didn't get. I wish Fedex would go out of business now. They suck big time in my book. This happened about three weeks ago. You can call them but they turn it around and say it's your fault. I didn't get any where with them. They just plain don't care!

Like I said My concern was/is not about the delivery being "late", it's about how they leave the parcel, When there is a sign on my door KNOCK HARD I AM HOME!!, had I not heard the truck in my driveway the Monitor would have sat there in plain sight for everyone to see. The second Problem is their customer service is lousy After I finally found the phone number I get somebody that has a very heavy accent and talks so fast you can't understand them, and then they say I'm sorry the package will be delivered tomorrow Okay?.
I have never had a problem with UPS since their inception, they knock Hard, leave small parcels in the fridge on the porch, And I do know the arrival time is an estimate, but once I get the message IT'S OUT FOR delivery it should make it that day, Barring bad/slick/snow covered roads "other acts of God"
BTW I live out in the country my nearest neighbor is close to a half mile away by road and you need a binoculars to see a person in their yard. I'm not bitching I like it this way.

No one rings the door bell any more. I have a ring doorbell that is lit up, people come to the door & look at it, then what do they do? Yep they knock.
