I certainly agree with that!

My desk is so uncomfortable and bothers my neck and shoulder a lot when I sit for long lengths of time. I have tried everything to rearrange my desk, chair monitor etc.
I was wondering if a laptop is my solution so I can move around more.
Take some muscle relaxers and at least three pain pills, drink a bottle of wine, and call me in the morning.
You might also try exercise. It does wonders for pain. If the all the above do not work......well your just doomed.
I have a lab top and only use it at my desk.

The only computer I own is a Mac Powerbook 17", so all my editing is done on it.

I take along a lap top when we travel, but find that I prefer to do serious editing with my desk top computer-- They seem to make different images with the same raw file,
As to working at your desk with a desktop-- it is a good idea to get up, stretch, walk around a bit between images---
Also-- I had a shelf built to raise my monitor up about 6 inches so it is at eye level-- that seemed to help a lot---
I checked out your website - amazing photos and great "about" section! Scott

You can always connect a external monitor to you lap top to get the big screen.
Howdeee, I use a Dell 17" Studio, I've used HDMI output to a flat screen TV also.
All my editing was on a large monitor attached to a desktop. I just bought the most expensive laptop that Best Buy sells and will be moving to it. Large disk drive and lots of speed was my main concern. Also got a 750gig outboard drive for back-up and transfer to the desktop. The desktop is tied to Carbonite for additional backup. I intend to plug in the large monitor to the laptop when editing at home. It is all next to my Laz-E-Boy and the track ball mouse is on the arm of the chair, the laptop in my lap with the monitor on a stand next to me. When I get Light Room and Photoshop installed on this laptop, I'll use the 17 inch screen here on the drilling rig until I get home with the large monitor for final finish work on the photos. I once tied in to the 72" plasma, but it's too far across the room to be as good as a 24" monitor next to me.
Your "Great Egret Reflection" is fabulous.

I use a 13" MacBook. But, I agree with tk...if you don't get up and move around, you can get pretty sore and tired with a laptop, also.
My Dell Latitude (4 years old) does a great job for any editing I do.
Like others here I use my laptop exclusively for storing and editing with PSE9/Topaz5 Adjust...My Gateway laptop can run circles around that ol piece of junk sitting in my office....backup can be CD, flashdrive or my favorite external hard drive...ditto the posture comment..spending hours on a computer of any kind can be a killer....
Audubin...you are one talented outdoor photographer and you inspire me to continue to grow and learn!!!!
Would you be so kind to view my gallery at BP and make any suggestions you feel appropriate...go to betterphoto.com and search david b spooner then click on any image and scroll to bottom of page and click on contact photographer...may, many thanks
i use an imac and a dell xps laptop when on the run.

I've been using my laptop but its a mini and when I look at my pics on larger screens I am finding I am not liking it as much... Considering getting a good computer for editing!
