I agree. I bought a refurb D810 just after the D850 came out. Camera arrived in a plain box. Looked brand new. I took a picture and sent it off to see how many shutter clicks, and it came out to be less than 20. My impression is that Nikon was dumping D810 inventory by selling as refurbs, but I have no way of knowing. Anyway, it has performed flawlessly. I am a believer in Nikon refurbs.

I can only speak for the US as Nikon has other sites for other parts of the world, but if you go to the nikonusa website and click on the 'Refurbished' button, there is a 4-day sale. Do these look like some of the best prices I've seen from them in a long time or is it just my imagination?? For example, D850 for under two grand. What say you? (It's under the 'Deals' tab.)
That is the best deal on a D850 that I've seen. Sad, I have one because I don't want two!
Dear Nervous: the lens was in the bag so it would have been impossible to miss it.
Nikon’s refurb warranty is 60 days.
[quote=camerapapi]I find interesting that most reputable dealers offer....
MPB only offers 7 days to return an item. B&H and others offer 30 days.
There is so much misinformation in this thread it is embarrassing
Nikon Refurbished Warranty is 90 days
https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-store/shopping-help/warranties.pagempb Return policy is 14 days

Abandon UHH in as it no longer has active commercial shooters using it...
Best advice? Get off the Internet Forums and master Photoshop and your Kit... Especially lighting.
Please keep in mind that photographic excellence isn't a consumer commodity... You can't buy it...
You can only earn it... Experience is best and a brutal teacher...
btw, if you are serious about photography you should be building a client list...
Not throwing money away on kit you may likely never use on paid assignments...
Or to solicit paid gigs...
See you on flickr...

Just breezed thru about 5 pages & everthing is the standard 10% off new as refurbished except the D850, = 33%!

You have to search a little, but there are better deals after you click the 'buy' button. The Z50 two-lens kit is discounted by more than thirty percent vs new and the Z7ii body only is around 25%. Those were the only two I looked at closely, but I'm sure there's more if you search a bit.

I'm here because I enjoy it, so why would I go elsewhere? I've been using Flickr since the beginning and never once have I felt any urge to become a 'professional' photographer, so a paid assignment just may not concern the majority of us here. That seems like it would take all the fun out of it for me. As regards misinformation, my thought there would be... don't buy used or refurbished if warranties are a major deciding factor in your buying process. I buy used and refurbished almost exclusively and have had only good results over a rather long period of years. YMMV. If calling us photographers is offensive to you, just call us gear collectors. See you on Flickr, or any one of several other sites I haunt.
