I like transforming shots into B&W. Sometimes I will work with a shot for a while and feel it just doesn't work in B&W and ditch it. Some shots seem they were made for B&W.
Your #7,8 and 9 are outstanding
Nice processing on all of these, Mike! The first is outstanding.
Several of those move from photography into art. They're all very nice, excellent work.
Your welcome. Keep posting.
Nicely done. Looks like a smiling Cheetah on the inside of the white flower on #9.
I appreciate grayscale/black and white/monochrome photos because I find that color sometimes distracts from the message of the photo. Your eye tends to gravitate to the brightest color and you miss the story the picture has to tell.
There are some photos I like in color, but I always test what they look like in black and white.
Thank you for sharing, your photos are quite lovely!
Orchids converted to B&W: an interesting idea. You've inspired me.

Another good series. Have you ever thought of mixing the two: color and B&W. For instance, when I looked at the grape picture, the thought came to me: what if one grape was grape dcolored?

Thank you all for viewing and commenting on my B&Ws. I hold with the person that said color often leads to a misinterpretation of a photo because a bright color will pull our eyes away from the story of the photo. At other times though color IS the subject of the photo. Just think how nice it is to see the beautiful colors of fall. B&W just wouldn't do justice to a shot like that!
Great job, boathouse row is awesome!
Very good monochrome images Mike.
