I like transforming shots into B&W. Sometimes I will work with a shot for a while and feel it just doesn't work in B&W and ditch it. Some shots seem they were made for B&W.

And these work beautifully 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍, but I know what you mean. The same goes for IR as well. Some look awesome, and other, well, I end up thinking, "Why did I waste a finger movement on this?"

I don't mind at all. Although I do a little commercial work -- birthday parties, engagement parties, corporate events, etc. It is usually only a couple a year with about 98% of what I do is for myself. That being said, at 72 I still like learning and if someone has something educational to provide, it is always welcomed.

Thanks. I have always liked it when anyone criticizes (again, in its real meaning) my postings. I know very well that there is always room for improvement. And I welcome it.

The first time I saw the Schuylkill River was on my way to freshman year at Villanova and there were fire boats using water cannons to round up all of the dead fish floating on the surface.

All excellent. My choice is the houseboats raw.

Beautiful set! Love the composition and the 'mood' that the B&W lends to the images!

Fantastic set. I think it's the best set of B&W I have seen. All are beautiful.

All depends upon the shot, for me. I believe one can get lost looking at the color and not appreciate the composition.
I decolorize many of my shots just for that reason.

These are really beautiful. Lovely clear whites, and beautifully dark, creamy blacks! Perfect contrast. If I could get B&Ws that good, I'd do more of them!
