"Everyone did what was right in their own eyes" A bible quote, Judges 21:25 judges 17:6 check it out. God wasn't happy with his people and he told them why. He passed judgement on them.
If you recognize the quote you know what's coming next if we don't turn from our ways and turn back to God. it won't be pretty.
God didn't give us too many rules, check out the 10 commandments but people "did what was right in their own eyes"

Good point. People seem to have big issues with the 10 commandments. I don't care what you believe but even if you don't believe in God the 10 commandments being practiced by all humans would lead to a Utopia. Even if you removed the commandments that deal with praying and God the rest would still lead to a Utopia. So if mankind cannot even pay attention to less than 10 rules to live in a Utopia letting everyone do as they choose darn sure ain't going to work.

Where did your morals, moral compass come from?

My mother was raised in some combination of Presbyterian and Mormon (yes, strange), father was ex-protestant.

I was “indoctrinated” and went (more-or-less faithfully) to church until, about age nine. About the age of seventeen I started attending services at different churches: Protestant, Catholic, Presbyterian, Mormon, Baptist, Judaism, Hindu, Quakers, Mennonites, Methodist, Episcopal, Jehovah’s Witness, Church of Christ Scientist, Unitarian, Pentecostals, and Holy Rollers. Missed out on Islam and Scientology.

In Japan and Vietnam, I investigated Animism, Buddhism Confucianism Shinto and Taoism. Later read of Druidism,
Jainism, zoroastrianism and a few others.

I found all these sects had a similar tolerance for people who wanted to learn about their various religions.

The only problems arose when almost ALL the religions required, at some point, subjugation to BELIEF (“faith”) without corroborating EVIDENCE other than books or scriptures of uncertain or dubious authorship.

The Eastern religions actually resonated more with my current personal beliefs of treatment of other peoples and animals. More tolerant of others.

Pray to God, the one true God. Ask for something that you will accept as proof. I don't think God minds people who shop around and and have dought. Then you need to face Jesus. Lier, lunatic or Lord, which is he? If you are honest in your search Jesus will eventually show you the truth.
You want to kneel to the one true God, no other.

I am not sure compliance with the Judeo-Christian Ten Commandments would lead to a “utopia”.

The first four of the “Ten commandments” are all about recognizing and subjugating to the will of a “jealous god”. These relate to the need (at the time) to set forth a new religious belief and justify its existence. However they do not relate to human-to-human relationships.

I consider only the last few are truly applicable to human interactions, and would number them:

1. Thou shalt not kill (other Sentient beings).

2. Thou shalt not steal.

3. You shall not covet.

4. Thou shall not bear false witness.

5. Honor your father and mother.

To which I would add:

7. Thou shall not force your beliefs or morals upon another being.

That is your personal Judeo-Christian belief-system ‘speaking’ — demanding unswerving acquiescence to beliefs that are not reflected world-wide.

How about you follow your beliefs BY YOURSELF and cease attempting to force your religion on others?

That would be the “Christian” thing to do . . . !

Addendum: I kneel to NO god — unless and until they reveal themselves in a verifiable manner.

Yes I agree with you there and put that in my statement. That the god commandants can be removed. I have studied quite a few religions. It seems to me that the story is basically the same in all the mainstream religions. Yes some details and names are different but it seems to me that the basic story is the same. Only different enough to cause people to be divided. What's your take? You have studied many more than I have

I don't think trying to have a conversation or point out things you might have missed would qualify as FORCED!
Did you know you can delete any post you choose, you don't have to read them.
Lastly, I don't know your age but the day is coming that you will bow to someone. We are all adults here and get to make our own mistakes, but wouldn't it be best if you choose the one true God?

The "one true god" is relative. You cannot prove your "god" has any more relevance than any other accepted religion's god.

Your way of looking at things, no I can't.
When that day comes and you get taken out, I'm sure you will be comforted by remembering all that prideful, useless rhetoric you thought made you sound smart.
