Thank you for all the suggestions and responses. My daughter was able to find the office program on disc. So, other than the necessary work, she’s resolved the issue.

I assume that the has the key numbers but she still have to activate it. If she needs the activation number I think I have it somewhere.

My daughter's hard drive and backup drive crashed. She has to reinstall programs and data. She's in business and uses MS Office 2010, but does not have the original disk. I use Apache Open Office and suggested she download it. She said Open Office does not run Excel and Power Point. I know it does open Excel, because I use it and it opens older spreadsheets I still have.

Does anyone here have positive experiences with Open Office running Power Point documents?

Thank you for feedback,
Mark

If she's using it for business just have her get an Office subscription, about $70 per year. With that she will also get a TB of OneDrive that can be used for backup. I did that and although my business is gone I still have the subscription, every folder on my computer is also a OneDrive folder and all data is automatically saved.

I use Ashampoo Office. It opens Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Document files (and saves them in Microsoft Office format). I'm running the 2018 release.

Mark,

It appears that open office is compatible. See this page:

Mark, my advise is that since she uses this for her business that she might make a $240 business investment for MS Office Home & Business 2021. It is available at B&H. That will include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. If she does not need Outlook she can go with MS Office Home and Student 2021 for $150. That will get her Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Thank you Jim. She was able to secure a copy of 2010 MS Office. Thank you for the suggestions.

Mark! Did she get her install of MS Office 2010 activated? It will work for a month without activation. She should check and make sure of that.

Have a look at Soft Maker, it seems to mirror MC Office.
