All the reviews that I have read have been very positive. Light and sharp. The pictures are very sharp and great color. I am thinking about getting one myself. With the R7, it will be 960 mm!
Great set, Greg, the lens looks like a keeper.
These lenses are not junk and actually I haven't seen reviews that say they are. I have had both the Canon 800mm and 600mm and have gotten very sharp, clear pictures from both that I would not have otherwise been able to capture without a lot of cropping. I am currently using the 600 mm on the R7 and getting equivalent 900 mm focal length which I am unable to get with the Canon RF 100-500 mm lens with extender on the R6.
Is it an L lens? No. I would not take it out in inclement weather and would not want to test the build quality by dropping it. Does the Canon 600 RF lens on the Canon R7 camera produce the same image quality as the Canon 100-500 mm on the R6? No and nothing I have ever owned has. Will it be recognized as a classic lens? Not likely.
But if you live in sunny anywhere it works just fine. And you can't beat the price or the weight and portability.
And your shots just confirm that the lens is a good one. Nice shots
The duck shot is really super & sharp with great color balance.
I have the 600 and I think it's great fun. Could never afford an f4 or so. You just have to be careful with it. I usually use it on very bright days.
I thank you all for your kind comments. They make me feel good and I hope my pictures do the same for you.
Where I see these reviews is on Youtube and I don't always believe everything I see. I'm not in love with this guy that says this stuff I think he is hooked up with Canon because he was ask to review the new R6 Mark II camera. I saw him with others reviewing the R6 MarkII camera and the new RF 135mm lens.
