I got this lens from UPS today and wanted to try it out on my Canon R6 MarkII. I wanted to shoot the moon but it's too cloudy tonight.

Thanks for your comments. Reviews on this lens say it's junk and canon's worst lens along with the 800mm version. Well I'm not selling my pictures but I think they turned out pretty good for my first try. The lens is set at F11 and can not be changed from that. So you have to play with the ISO to get good shutter speed. I think I was up to ISO 5000 or moreover 6400. This camera seems good up there for me.

I have seen dozens of reviews that this is an amazing lens as well as the 600mm
The ones that you are reading are Trolls jealous that Canon has created 2 very portable hiking long lenses that are actually handholdable all day that are extremely sharp and well made.
The 800mm is on my wish list.

A lady in our club has the 800mm F11. A lot of bang for the bucks. She also hired out the the £13k 600mm F4, and that's in a different class, but at 25x the price (U.K.) you'd want something special.

If I had an R, I'd try the 600 or 800 F11's.

Thanks for your comments. I was out today but not as good for me. I tried some different auto focus settings. Still learning camera and lens. Close focus is 14.74 ft and I was too close a couple of times.
