I hope the OP (Kasocha) does come back. I would like to know the camera and battery number.

Many people onh UHH think they can ask but can not be asked. The OP asked for how to get a replacement charger for an old camera and we asked the OP which brand and model of the camera and I think the OP thought we insult him/her.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to find battery chargers for cameras that are no longer current models? I suppose I could try to contact the mfr, or the retailer that sold it, but I wonder if there is something else I may be missing.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thank you.

YES! Many aftermarket Camera Battery chargers were made over the years. The popular style years ago had a series of adapters to fit the popular brands/models of Digital Pocket Cameras.
Newer Chargers are more Brand Specific to a single style of battery.
I suggest a DOUBLE Cross Reference on Amazon.
First, Look up the Battery for your CAMERA,
Then Look up the CHARGER for that Battery.

For the Pocket Cameras, they have some Kastar Chargers that come with an AC Plug & a 12 V Car Cord.
These are sold with a single insert, but otherwise similar to the earlier chargers in that they have the same BODY for multiple battery styles, so when I travel, I only have to take 1 base and a couple of inserts to save space/Weight. [Note, I am using these chargers on 15-20 year old cameras!]

I also got an Enegon Dual Charger for my 3100 with 2 metered charging ports. This uses your existing USB power supply to operate, reducing cost. When you buy this, as you add extra batteries, the cost only goes up a few $, so you can get some spares.

Good Luck!
Include Camera in question for more help.

I was on a cruise ship and discovered that I left my charger at home. Went to the department that takes pictures for you and they had Vivitar Universal Battery Chargers. Dumbfounded, disbelieving and desperate, I bought one. I think it was $30. It works because you can change the spacing of the two pins so that they match the different batteries.

YES! I forgot about the Vivitar Charger. It was somewhat a pain to set the pin spacing, but it WAS handy!
Haven't seen one lately and mine is in hiding.

I had no intent to insult anyone. That is not my nature. I feel if we know what camera and battery we as helpful Hoggers can solve the issue. Maybe, some one might have an old charger lying around.
I don’t know if I could help but it is worth a shot.

Have you tried Googling "charger for <battery model> battery"?

Google for a replacement battery and see if any results also show a charger.

I've done that for accessories to items that are over half a century old and have had success.

What are you looking for? I might have it.

Sony NP-FW50; Panasonic DMW-BLC12

Thanks for the generous thought.

I can't believe how many Hoggers
were kind enough to offer suggestions.

I will pursue ACE and B&H initially.

If you have one you no longer can use I'd be happy to purchase yours.

You weren’t in the wrong. If I go buy parts for my farm equipment I give them brand, model and sometimes serial number is needed. If you order a pair of shoes you give them your shoe size. If you want a charger you provide the brand and the particular battery model you want to charge. Pretty obvious to me.

I did provide the battery numbers here last night. The cameras were both Sony rangefinders.

Sorry for any confusion.

If you buy, not my first choice, an after market battery they come with their own charges. 2 batteries plus a charger are available. I like OEM batteries but others are ok with after market.

There are several companies. I have had good luck with kastar https://www.mykastar.com/

I think wasabi is another. Amazon. Search camera battery chargers and you will get a list.

Not all camera batteries are the same in physical dimensions, contact configurations, and/or electronic values. If you can find the specifications for your camera batteries, there are many generic chargers or chargers for other devices that can be utilized. Most modern chargers feature an automat trickle circuit which automatically reduced the charging rate or shot the charge off when the battery if s fully charged- this prevents overcharging and overheating which can damage both the battery and the charger.

You would need to know the voltage, ampere/hour rating, and charge rate in milliamperes. Then there is a matterof attaching the charger leads in the correct polarity to the battery contacts.

If you can find a used unit, an exact replacement through your dealer, on oneof the various buy and sell sites, that is your easiest solution. If not, you will have to improvise somethg as I have explained.

If you purchase a generic charger for multiple batteries, make certain it is compatible with your specific batteries.

The universal that I have uses movable pins and works for all batteries that I own. No idea of the brand.

That might be from battery plus, as I had a similar one for an extra cell phone battery
All the battery plus by me closed
