Very nice shot. It reminded me of the Army. A coworker reenlisted for 6 years. Archie got a big bonus for his reenlistment. He bought a Dodge muscle car, a hemi. He picked up the car, got drunk, and then completely totaled the car. He almost died and had scars all over his torso, that looked like he went through an autopsy. The car was a beautiful machine. He lucked out and never was sent overseas or to Viet Nam.
Probably '72 Summer Nationals at Englishtown NJ. I received a ticket for Sunday the last day of the races. I got there late, probably noon. Top Fuelers were staging up. When I got to the track right by the traps I caught the end of the race that had been staging. Don Garlits came through the traps at probably 240 +MPH, front wheels were still 1/2 foot off the track. Once he went through the traps he let off and the front end slowly came back to the asphalt.

I see your Dyslexia is still acting up. Aside from that your '64 Sport Fury must have been quite a car.
I'm a big fan of Mopars.
OOPS, Thank you.
It was geared a bit high, I never did find out what its top speed was, the one time I ran it out "with the top down" its was over 120mph and still going when I had to exit the highway. And it idled smooth as silk.
. completely stock.

You don't need a giant engine to go 120 mph. My 4 cylinder stock Chevy SUV will go 120 mph. Nothing special about that. Still, the 426 hemi is an awesome engine.

You got that right but this was in the 70s and I still don't know how fast it would go!!and I would bet my convertible weighed a heck of a lot more than the 4 cylinder suv.
Thanks everyone, I believe during these years the big 3 were having a muscle car war. Cranking out the horse power.
The movie Ford vs Ferrari was pretty accurate. Ken Miles got the Ford Gt to 210mph in the straights back in 1967. They came in first second and third. If you have 1.7 million dollars you can buy a 2023 Ford Gt. Top speed of that is 205 mph from a 3.5 liter v6 engine.
It`s great to see these old cars that`ll push you into the seat when you stomp on the gas.

I'm not sure what a heck of a lot is but for sure your 70's convertible more than my 2019 Equinox Premier. Probably around roughly 500 pounds more.
