I went to Circle B in Lakeland, Florida on a very cool day. The gators were out and about trying to get warm and this one was on the path where I took a wide left away from him...luckily he wasn't the least bit concerned with me. I call this a "grab" shot. Had my settings ready took the shot and ran.
A few years ago, we had several baby rabbits born in our yard. Late one afternoon, I spotted this little guy hiding out under one of my rosebushes, grabbed my Canon SX50, dropped to my stomach, and took this shot.
Thank you! I loved the bunny shot so much that I had it enlarged, framed it & hung it in the entryway of our home. Here's the "mate" to it - also enlarged it, framed it & hung it in the entryway.
When I lived in Alaska, I took lots of photos of moose. Here are a couple taken when I encountered one in my front yard in January 2008 (I was on the other side of a picture window).
This little White breasted Nuthatch has gotten to be quite a regular visitor in Bird Alley.. We also have a window feeder which is my favourite viewing , picture taking location of it. Just last week I watched it choose a peanut for lunching on! This is my favourite nuthatch picture of the white breasted! A red breasted nuthatch also visits our window feeder but I have not been able to take a picture of it yet!
This beautiful Sharp Shinned Hawk captured a Spotted Towhee for lunch in my backyard . She let me approach within 10 feet of her for these pics! More interested in eating than fleeing I guess. I quickly grabbed a few shots and left her in peace. But I watched through a window…
