I had to replace my refrigerator this week. I couldn’t believe how many food items were date stamped 2014 and 2017 in the freezer, and a couple in the refrigerator section.

Propane tanks for the grill used to be called 20 pound bottles. Now they are 15 pound and the price is higher too.

It's amazing how something can get lighter over time. Of course, the tank is the same, but they put less propane into it.

I have three 40 pound propane bottles I use for auxiliary heat and to heat my hot tub room. I've been getting those tanks refilled for years and they always put in just under 8 gallons or 32 pounds. Since you are only supposed to fill a propane tank to 80% of it's capacity, and 80% of 40 is 32, I guess the people at the different propane filling facilities I've been using, know what they are doing, at least when it comes to filling propane bottles.

I recently tried to buy a five pound bag of sugar. I had the same thought, when did the four pound bags start? I looked, thinking that there HAS to be shelf space for five pound bags. A shelf stocker asked if I needed help or have questions. I asked about the five pound bag and he gets wide eyed ‘I never seen fives, they have always been four.’ Yes he was young…

Used to have a choice of sizes with the larger sizes being less expensive per pound. By eliminating the larger sizes, we must pay the higher per pound price.

I wonder if he knows what a record player is.

What I hate about downsizing is the fact that you are getting less. In some cases, you have to buy two instead of one, so they get you twice.
