Glass? For a metal frame?

Glass is fine for a metal frame but the OP is looking for metal prints.

I don't think a lot of folks get that you can actually have prints made on metal.

Kodak used to make a "metallic" surface paper. It was paper that LOOKED like metal. The lab I worked for printed a lot of it. But now we have inkjet printers that print on both coated and uncoated aluminum metal sheets. I recommend high gloss coated surfaces.

Aluminum can be framed in many ways. Metal print specialists usually have their own frame shops.

Most commonly they don’t use frames at all but have a mount that sets them off the wall maybe 1/2-3/4” to give that “floating” look.

A Pro photographer told me about Vivid Metal Prints. They are the originators of metal prints and that is their only product. Most of their business has been to professional photographers but recently they have started selling to anyone. I have purchased over 20 of their prints ranging in size from 12x18 to 36x54. I've been 110% satisfied.
Take the photo with the most colors and send it into them. Get a proof for a small fee. As others have suggested, if there will be a reflection, use matte. They are easy to work with and if they don't think they can make an outstanding print, they will let you know.

I get quite a few from Bay Photo and I am happy with how they did the metal photo. I usually get the luster finish. They just had 15% off last week. I ordered four large ones with a high luster. I had a high luster done locally in Florida called APC. I hope these are as good. Bay photo will redo your print if you are not happy with the product.

I am wondering if anyone had metal prints made? If so where was it printed and how was the quality? I am looking into having 30" x 20" prints made of several vehicles I've photographed for the champions who won their class. I am not sure where will be best to have them made. Thank you for your input!!

I have been using “Shinnyprints” located in Jupiter, Fl 33458.
The quality is excellent , they cater to a wide range of photographers all over theUSA.
Their facilities are the most advance. Check their website.

Here's another vote for Vivid Metals. They hosted my camera club a month or so back taking several hours to take us through the process and tour the facility. I had a pic I had planned to print on metal for a year or so but was looking for a company who would take time to help me get everything right for printing. They coached me through the best file to upload, printed a proof for me ($10 I think), recommended some optimizations and then make the print itself (16 x 24). I was really happy with the output and will return to have them print more. As a note, I believe they have white bases with three gloss options and they also have clear with a couple of gloss options (with clear the color of the aluminum takes the place of the white).

I need to drive down there from High Point and check them out. Their web site is quite impressive. Their prints are awesome!

20x30 at Costco $94.00. The savings on 3 prints likely will pay for your membership. Location in Strongsville.

Just had a 16x24 metal done by Costco. Sunset with lots of vibrant colors. Happy with the results

I agree. Costco did a superb job on a photo I shot of Denali mountains from 13,000 feet. The photo was given to a MD friend who cherishes its quality hanging in his living room.

110.00 From canvasdiscount. I've had canvas prints done by them and find their work very acceptable.

We have had great luck at Costco with metal prints. The largest they can do is 24 x 36 but the quality is beautiful. Their prints are done by Fuji of America in Greenwood, SC.
