A celestron C 8 makes a great scope with an AVX mount.
It's a 2000mm F 10 mm mirror lens

I was just telling my wife after I took these, I wished I still had my C8 HD. I still have the AVX mount, hoping some day to get another OTA. All I have right now is a 10" DOB, which isn't the best for AP.

That looks nicely done.
I saw that, and here is something I find interesting. Just looking at it by eye, the size/diameter of Mars appeared to be a bit larger and it seemed a bit brighter in relation to the moon from how it is in your photo.
My astigmatism, or a difference in atmospheric conditions (it was cloudless clear in the view I had, too, at about 12-15 degrees F), or my brain just fooling me into thinking Mars looked larger and brighter....??.....but it was interesting. Caught my attention to where I just stopped and stood there looking at it a couple minutes or so.
That looks nicely done. br I saw that, and here is... (show quote)

I found out the more I exposed to get detail on the moon, the dimmer Mars got, especially the closer it got.

Thanks Mike. While you're out traveling the west, come down to Lake Havasu for a visit.

Thank You Earnest, I was happy it worked without a good telescope.

I feel your pain, the day before was overcast and was hoping for clear skies on the 7th.

Yeah, I saw that but didn't get a photo. Nicely done.

What? Did you misplace your camera? I guess there is a next time a few years from now.

Those are still good. My C14 was my favorite, but could not lift that one now.
