Last night there was an occultation of Mars by the Moon. I was able to get this shot about 15 minutes before it disappeared. I got video of the event, but with a 600mm lens I'm still trying to figure out how I can zoom in to see better detail. This image was a single exposure cropped and processed.

Good morning Alberio,

Beautiful image!! I am getting a little tired of "moonshots" here @ UHH. Please don't get me wrong - I love Earth's "Luna" and this is quite likely my favorite site mainly because of the terrific opportunity to interact with my fellow "photogs". But sometimes Luna is simply overdone.
But your image is so uniquely different (at least to me!) in that you included a very noticeably "reddish" planet Mars. For me Mars actually stands out more significantly than our dear Luna.
Excellent!

All the very best to you and yours,

Terry

A celestron C 8 makes a great scope with an AVX mount.
It's a 2000mm F 10 mm mirror lens

That looks nicely done.
I saw that, and here is something I find interesting. Just looking at it by eye, the size/diameter of Mars appeared to be a bit larger and it seemed a bit brighter in relation to the moon from how it is in your photo.
My astigmatism, or a difference in atmospheric conditions (it was cloudless clear in the view I had, too, at about 12-15 degrees F), or my brain just fooling me into thinking Mars looked larger and brighter....??.....but it was interesting. Caught my attention to where I just stopped and stood there looking at it a couple minutes or so.

Good morning Alberio, br br Beautiful image!... (show quote)

You're right, shots of the moon by itself do get boring, but to be able to include anything in the foreground would make Mars impossible to see. I was surprised to get Mars and the Moon so close together with the huge magnitude difference. Thanks for the nice comment.
