I just did that, but I instead clicked on a You-tube video (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPQjjWqdTTc). Seems like the closest is "CAH-ter", but I've had to play it a few times. Apparently it's OK to say it either way, but CUTTer and CAHter are most proper.
I think I've heard it pronounced almost like "cotter", as in cotter pin. Emphasis on the first syllable.
I've heard "authorities" say that they are pronouncing it incorrectly as Cut-TAR because that's what we expect to hear. It's actually CAH-Ta. It doesn't translate into an easy English pronunciation.
