Looking at it now. Does the program move your picture files into its library (without the user agreeing to do so) or just view them in the directories where they now exist? I am not a fan of the way something like Lightroom takes over file storage.

Also not a fan of subscriptions and the buy it outright is cheaper (only $69) than 1st year subscription… how can that be? Am I misunderstanding something? Trying to figure out if the $69 on1 does everything that the $159 Topaz bundle.

Killroy: ON1 does not move the image files, it just finds them in the Browse section on your current drives/folders. You don't have to Catalog the file folders, but if you do tell program to catalog them, the searches will be faster.
I buy the program and then only upgrade when I see something new being added or improved that appeals to me, then I will upgrade. They provide free updates during the year you buy when they issue debugging fixes, improvements that users have suggested or new cameras supported, etc. Thus, no subscription needed. I do buy the "Plus" additional as I have found the many Plus user training videos really helpful for education, ideas, reference. At some point I might consider my needs leveling off and drop the Plus annual fee - but it's been worth it so far.
Another thought, it's likely worth trying for the first year just to get the full spread of functions which you could then use as "Plug Ins" for LR, PS or other programs if you don't want to continue ?

I can relate. I just had a Lenovo built to my specs. $1800. My gaming laptop MSI half the keyboard stopped working. Then the camera stopped. My computer guy said not worth the $$ to fix and it is big and heavy.
I have just worked 16 hours going thru Windows 11 set ups and convincing Win 11 to like if not love Word 12, Excel, and my 10 yr old still working Brother printer.
Two Microsoft files were missing and Adobe wouldn’t download PS and LR. I found a solution on YouTube but by that time Customer Support sent me the direct links that worked after a lot of tweaking. I don’t like Win 10 or 11.
I haven’t even started loading Topaz stuff yet and a few other programs and stuff I copied off the MSI.
Meanwhile my 8 yr old HP desktop runs a bit slow but handles everything without a problem, especially some heavy duty photo editing. Fortunately it’s too old for Win 11. Win 10 runs ok. I miss Win 7

Something happened to my post ?? This may be repeat.
ON1 finds the files in your file folder structure - no moving. Edits and XMP info files are stored adjacent to original file location. Cataloging in ON1 makes searches faster, but not required. Files remain in place.
Subscripton no needed. Buy one year - keep until you see enough changes to upgrade. ON1 will issue updates during the first year as improvements, debugging, new cameras/lenses supported, etc.
You might find value to buy first year and then continue using as plug-ins for LR/PS, other programs if you don't want to continue.

M.2 SSD is the C:\ drive. been on for 2 days now, been active for the last hour or so... when not active, it goes down into the 80s

D:\ is a Seagate internal (I think black series) been in PC since it was built 8 years ago... another one like it was C:\ but disconnected when SSD replaced it

R:, 4TB, and Z:, 2TB, are small externals via USB

T: drive, another external (4TB WD USB larger format) no longer shown is one I have been watching but no longer appears. It was staying over 100 all the time and was in a place behind PC where air circulation wasn't great. I moved it and connected it to my Cloud, via USB,... it gets better air but doesn't show on CrystalDiskInfo (and neither do the cloud drives that are internal to the box). By the way, the Cloud CAN BE accessible from the internet but I do not allow that... it is just for my local use at home.

Your “cloud” drives are internal to your box? How are they connected?

Not internal to the PC… but internal to the case (box) they are housed in. They are connected via Cat 5 ( or 6) cable to my router. Actually there is just 1 drive in it, but it is divided into 2 as they appear on our network. 1 of them is available to anyone who accesses our network… the other is for my, and my wife’s access and requires a password.

That cloud setup, in addition to making its drive (6 TB) available to our home network, has USB ports to connect other drives… which show up as another drive on/in the cloud. Can also connect a printer but I don’t know why I might want to do that.

I too was concerned, mine runs at 50* but I did some reading and they do normally run hotter than 2.5" drives.

Previously asked questions about cloning… got some useful feedback on the UHH.

Received the Crucial 4TB M.2 PCIe and put it in the M.2 slot on the motherboard… then the PC would not boot… said there was no bootable media present.

Several hours of read/research figured it out. My motherboard has 6 SCSI data plugs; however, 2 of them are shared (with exclusive or use) with the M.2 slot/interface… and of course the kid I paid to build this PC, 8 years ago, plugged a SCSI HDD into one of the “shared” data ports… didn’t matter till I tried to use the M.2 slot. In defense of the kid, that plug was easier to get to… and everything worked… at the time.

After moving the offending HDD plug to an unused slot… booted fine.

After a bonehead move on my part, which I figured out immediately, Acronis did the Clone beautifully.

Didn’t notice till I had bought the SSD but it is PCIe 4 and my motherboard (8 years old) only supports 1, 2, & 3. Luckily, SSD is backward compatible to 3. That means the SSD is delivering half of its possible speed throughput… but it is so blazing fast I am fine with that. Plan to build a new PC, that is WinDOZE 11 compatible in 2025 and probably will use this SSD in it.

Oh I am just getting ready to attempt this, bought a SSD yesterday. Once I figure out how to get this in the computer my hope is to clone original C:\ and boot from the SSD. I have a Dell computer however this is my first experience with SSD’s.
