Wow. When I was little we had 3.
Eventually we got UHF (4 more).

I hear ya, Longshadow. Growing up in rural NW Iowa in the 50s, we had the pleasure of 2 consistent over the air CBS channels and an ABC occasionally, Mankato MN, Mason City IA, and Austin MN. People would talk about Bonanza and I had no idea what the #e11 they were talking about until I left the farm for good.

Yup.
What was "remote" then is no longer remote, for the most part.
BUT, there are still many remote locations.

Disney started raising theme park prices years ago making them unaffordable to the families they market to. They seem to follow the same business model for their streaming services. Going Woke was the last straw for me and my friends. No more Disney for us.

Not so much an issue with how much the company is worth as much as what one believes the service is worth to them. I suppose one can divide the $11 by the number of shows watched to get a price per show value.
If food prices double, will you stop eating in protest?
Or eat half as much.
(Everything goes up in price, eventually.)

We just added Brit Box to our lineup. We (really) like what is available on Brit Box.

FYI - we just binged Foyle’s War, inspector Morse, endeavor and Shetland on Brit Box. All 4 are Masterpiece Theater and all excellent!

Discovered traveling cross-country listening to Internet streaming channels dropping out because the towers are not out there.

One would think that the Interstates could be fitted with antennas for coverage, at least when going down the Interstates. The roads can easily fitted with 10 foot antennas every half mile. The piping for the wires is already in place.

I can't list all the stuff we like on Britbox: Britcoms, Britmyst, ...

???
Not on most of the interstates I've been on. Only at interchanges for lighting. And that comes off of the crossroad.
Nothing in between, unless power is tapped from an occasional adjacent local road or crossroad.
Nothing runs along the interstates.

My nickel Marg, Foyles War was awesome, great period series...'MI-5' is one of the best suspenseful British dramas going, that along with 'Line of Duty.' Not to mention British comedy (humor) has to be the best, there are so many great shows.

I've heard more and more people saying that Walt Disney would roll over in his grave if he could see what he created has become. Truer words were never spoken.

No Disney channel for me either. Plenty of other decent ones to watch
