My life has been associated with dolls. The first picture is my mother as a young girl with her Grace Putnam "newborn" doll - cloth body and bisque head. Very popular in the 1920s. It amazes me that it survived intact as we (my sisters and I) played with the doll constantly just as if it were a "newborn". The second doll is a "Patsy Doll". My mother had a smaller version also in the 1920s, and said if she ever had a girl with brown eyes, her name would be Patsy (and that is what she always called me). These bring back special memories for sure.
The last doll is also very special - jointed, human hair, pierced ears and I believe "original" clothing. We were engaged on Christmas Eve, 1969, and this, in addition to a diamond ring, was the gift my now husband gave to me.
He looks like a hard worker.

The field of nursing has changed so much...so has the nurse's wardrobe. No caps anymore (I was glad as ours were very thin linen and wilted with the slightest of humidity). Scrubs or pants and tops - so much more practical for the many tasks we performed.
I suspect they made you guys wear those capes and caps for flight purposes πππππ
