as far as 1600 or 800 top ISO, I really didnt give a crap when I owned it because it didnt affect the photos I was taking with it. I always shot at low ISO's in bright sunlight.

So it appears you don't give a "c***" about the ISO1600/800 anomaly when Hasselblad's own specs suggest/confirm this is a designation of what model you have/had? Have you actually seen a picture of the model with a 'II' designation on the body as you suggest it should have, or is that also immaterial?

Look, I know for a fact the big H3D 39 II didnt pop up on the screen at start up, which it should have as a 39 II, and it cost me a $600 loss on the resale, as far as 1600 or 800 top ISO, I really didnt give a crap when I owned it because it didnt affect the photos I was taking with it. Ok, we've beat this horse enough, their fault, my fault, it all boils down to they advertised one thing and sold something else and I didn't catch it till it bit me in the ass a few years later.

Did you read the post by Grahame???? It sounds like you got the exact camera that the sticker said it was & you let a buyer mislead you. You cared about the 800 ISO when it was used by the buyer to convince you it wasn't a II. I don't see any blame on Adorama unless you have proof you have not divulged.

So it seems that you did get a H3D 39 II and the buyer duped you by showing you the specs for the H3D 31 II or a H3D original? Was the sensor 39mp? Maybe somebody needs to make an apology to a certain camera dealer?

THE CLINCHER AS TO WHETHER OR NOT what you bought from Adorama was a an H3D or the 2007 introduced line---"H3DII is that the earlier H3D USED A COOLING FAN and the H3DII a HEAT SINK. So, you could just listen to the models and tell the difference.-------------ew

Here is the spec sheet on those Hasselblads:-------So, who conned whom?

H3DII-31 33.1 mm × 44.2 mm, 31 megapixels, 16 bit 100–800 100–1600 1.2 s 1.3 31 mm 3" OLED CF
H3DII-39 36.8 mm × 49.0 mm, 39 megapixels, 16 bit 50–400 50–800 1.4 s 1.1 28 mm
H3DII-50 36.8 mm × 49.0 mm, 50 megapixels, 16 bit

The OP hasn't stated if his camera had a fan or heat sink. He has simply labeled Adorama as crooked based on some apparently incorrect info given to him by a prospective buyer. He didn't bother to check as to exactly what he bought. He sent it out for repairs 5 years ago and never bothered to ask the repair shop for any verification about it, and since this issue has arisen he does not appear to have contacted Adorama or Hasselblad with the serial # to see if that gives him any answers. He couldn't be bothered to do any of that but wasted no time coming on UHH to claim, without any proof, that Adorama deliberately stole from him.

It will be interesting to see if he answers that question.

I have had good luck with B&H, also, (good fast delivery) but you find very few "bargains, there." The only bargains are in truly outdated inventory like in the fast changing world of memory sticks. But yet they do have an extensive catalog with prices all over the water-front if you look hard enough.--They send out a few advertising emails per day.------ew

Since the label indicated a II and the serial # matched, has it occured to you that maybe Adorama was fooled also? Maybe the person who originally bought that camera got conned. The actual crook could be anyone or it could have simply been a mixup at the factory. You don't know what the real story may be, so why just point at someone and yell "thief"?

Wouldn't the camera model be in the exif data of one of the images?

I only dealt with Adorama twice (several years ago) and both times the communication and interaction was much less than satisfactory. I was disappointed to the point that I decided not to make any purchases from them again. I may have been premature, but fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and shame on me. Twice was enough for me.

Ditto.

I've done a lot of business with Adorama. I very much doubt that they intentionally "screwed" a customer for a "couple hundred bucks". I also very much doubt that they can make it right after three years, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call instead of denigrating a great camera store!

You blame them for the very error you yourself were making until somebody corrected you.
