You could use a simple text file. I do for albums and movies.

I'm looking for programs to keep track of CDs and DVDs. The word "FREE" appears on the page for just about all of them, but they are not free. In most cases, they don't make the price easy to find. Somewhere, there might be a small "free to download." I don't like downloading and installing programs that I'll be deleting when I find that I don't like them. Bit and pieces always remain after uninstalling something.
Have you ever seen a program that charged you to download it?
For example:

For all kinds of software, there are LOTS of absolutely free programs. "Free to download" means just that - and be prepared to pay if you want to use it. Occasional free programs will request a donation - voluntary. If a trial is free, but CC information is required, you will need to cancel before the end of the trial period if you don't want to use the software, or their charge is automatic. Again, there is a LOT of absolutely free software - and some of it is just as good as any paid programs of the same type!!! Free programs may or may not carry advertising.

In search of the "free lunch".
As I understand it, the phrase came from a time when bars were offering food at no cost (“Free Lunch’j to attract customers. The booze, of couse, was not free.
Somewhere along my journey, someone told me;
'If something is free, you are the product'

The free programs I've seen tell you that you can easily unsubscribe. But they do want your credit card number up front.
I've been using DVD Profiler for years. Always works, no issues.

I have used Invelos in the past.
I have so much ripped and collected mp3 & flac files, that I started using
JRiver.
It is the most comprehensive application I have come across.
It started out in studios in 1981 and is widely recognized as a top tier product for both audio, video, TV, and photos.
It will sort by artist, song, Album name, Genre, year etc.
I use this app to catalog, sort & play my library which is almost out of control.
Some ~9500 mp3s, 1000+ cartoons, old concert video, Comedy, Wurlitzer Organ Music, classic movies & TV pilots.
This isnot counting stuff I have ripped off CD’s. Over 2000 flac files.
Then there is still, the 800+ pieces of vinyl I need to go through.
It’s not cheap but it is a very powerful product. Supports Windows, Mac, Unix/Linux
