I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've always been deeply appreciative of the rugged and varied scenery around here, but now that my trail cameras give me an intimate look at the animals who inhabit it I have even greater reverence. I realize that they knew me long before I met them.

As always, I really appreciate your effort in maintaining the trail cameras and sharing your results. However, your shots after the trail camera post are excellent. Good eye and execution.

The Cougar Trail (my name for it) meanders along Cherry Creek through one of the most appealing canyons in my neck of the woods. Even when the forest is dry and the water flow is intermittent, the Cougar Trail is a good place to be. I have had trail cameras placed at various locations along the creek, but my current spot is the best I've found--a good thing since I've lost the key to the locking cable.

Coatimundis, mostly just called coatis (ko WAH tees) are abundant along riparian areas, and this tribe of them seems to be flourishing. Nearly all the coatis you see in these snapshots taken from trail cam videos are youngsters; they are all quite small. Since they also climb trees it is easy to imagine you're watching a band of monkeys.

The bear has only made one appearance on this camera, and I look forward to seeing more of it. The animals were moving just fast enough in the videos to prevent my getting really sharp stills; I don't know what everyone's hurry was.

I hope you enjoy these photos and maybe soak up a little of the magic in that canyon.

Very nice pictures! I'm curious - what is the stone structure at the left edge of number 6?

Beautiful set. Coatis are wonderful little animals. The landscape looks a lot like one of the canyons in the Santa Rita Mountains in Arizona

Isn't it fabulous? I really do like it when the scenery and wildlife cooperate.

Thanks. They were taken with my phone, which has an awesome wide angle feature and an editing program that I like a lot.
