I don’t think I’ve ever seen UHH posters so overwhelming agree on a subject so I am afraid to voice an opinion different but here goes. While the amount of information is overwhelming and most of it isnt of interest to me there are several of the educators I follow on a regular basis like Mark Denny, Tim Grey, Greg Benz, Nick Page, Tim Shields and Nigel Danson. They primarily are landscape photographers like me. I use Greg Benz’s Lumenzia for doing my luminosity masking (great plugin). And while you can get bits and pieces of what they teach via YouTube you won’t get all of them. I don’t do many of the genres these classes cover but it would be nice to have a backup if my daughter asked me to do headshots for her. I’ve never purchased any photography classes since my uni days - great to live in Santa Barbara, a center of photography learning back in the 70s.

You should not be afraid to share your opinion, but you are right, if you don't agree with the people here you will be branded as drama creator and will get shut down. But you still should share your opinion. I did, I think some of the material was pretty good when I bough it but disappeared too soon to see it all. Because as the other said, it is overwhelming which is true, but I don't think that alone makes it a bad deal. If you are a beginner or don't have experience in a genre then it might be for you.

It helps to have a tough skin to post on any on-line “public square”.

Re all UHHers agreeing, sometimes alternate opinions get lost in the sea of comments, or people don’t read all the comments and miss them.

I suggested that as an impulse buy it is probably not an efficient use of money, however if you see tutorials from someone you like and have considered buying, or see a subject you want to learn more about, then it can be a good use of the money.

It’s good to plan the time for when you will watch the tutorials. If you don’t have the time then it’s not worth buying them.

I know what you mean. I've bookmarked many sites that I haven't gone back to read.

Less than 10% of people ever follow up on their intentions. Those that do advance beyond others.

Ouch.

Follow up was my problem with the 5 day deal. It took a long time and by the time I got there they removed the content and said too bad, so sad we warned you we would eventually take it down. What they did not warn you about was that it would take a long time to go through it. Downloading everything, logging into different websites and creating accounts would be a lot of time and effort, so much so you cannot get to everything before they take it down (1 year) so I will never buy it again even though I found some of the information useful. I agree with others it is overwhelming. But if you like the authors and you are getting a good deal even if you don't get to everything, then it might be for you.

If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all.
Even a fool when he is silent people think he is wise.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt

I am NOT suggesting buying this package, but I will say I have had great results with instructional materials in the past. I LOVED Laura Shoe's series of video's on Lightroom, which I used to learn Lightroom @ 10 years ago, and I love Steve Perry's e-books on focusing using Nikons. Usually, what I need is specific as I have been doing this over 55 years. Best of luck

I have purchased several of Steve Perry's books and find them most helpful. I think this deal is not for me but just thought I would ask.

I did, they are good meaningful sayings that are true. What would I compare them to a saying like "A photographer and his money are soon parted"

The real saying is a fool and his money is soon parted. Are we saying all photographers are fools or just the ones that partake of the 5 day deal. I don't think either of those are true. But everyone has their opinion.

Do you really think so?

So for wedding photographers that rush to the bottom with their $99 coupon, they don't have the money to spend on expensive gear. Many people on this site including myself make decent money and can afford to buy what they want and have new cars every few years, and a half million dollar home. They part with their money like it is going out of style and camera gear is pocket change. Over the years I have other hobbies that are considered expensive, music, boating, building gaming computers, mountain bicycles, ebike. Traveling in the US and Europe. I ride street bikes and dirt bikes. My Harley and Yamaha R1 new cost more that all my camera gear combined. I am pretty tight, I don't pay interest to loans or credit cards buy cars cash and only buy after extensive research. Some might consider that foolish but I think I am frugal. I refuse to buy Canons overpriced RF lenses. I may to switch to Sony, if they continue and that may be foolish and I have not made up my mind yet but it is principal, same as not renting adobe products.

You can easily judge the character of a man by the software he buys.

I seem to have struck a nerve. Sorry, I did not mean it as an insult.

You have a nice collection of toys. :).

I have a couple dirt bikes and a CBR1000RR. But all my camera lenses and gear cumulatively cost me more.
