Mountain Life Pt. 2
Nice, especially the falls. Nicely capture and well done.

Great pictures!! We live near the Parkway in Yancey Co. What is the name of those falls? I don't think I've ever seen
those.
That is Mill Shoals Falls aka French Broad Creek. They are on private property however it is my understanding that the land owner is a Youth Ministry and they do allow you to walk the trails leading to the falls. There is a third falls down an easy trail named Bird Rock falls. From where you live they are on HWY 215 south of Waynesville and a couple of miles south of the Parkway. There are private property signs posted but they say enter at your own risk, I think that they post for liability purposes, the public is welcomed.
I posted a picture that includes the house above the falls that is part of the Ministry, the house is right on 215 and the parking area is just south of the house.
Great set, especially the first falls picture.
Great shots. Very enjoyable. I would have like a shot or two of the falls at much faster shutter speed to capture a look that I see when I am there in person. Just a matter of taste, but I like the water 'stopped' as well as smooth.

So.... I have never been one to be overly patient and the anticipation of Fall colors has gotten me pretty excited. This AM I drove up to the parkway to see how things are coming along. It is starting but it is not here just yet. On the way home I stopped off at a roadside waterfall that I usually just pass by..... The falls turned out to be the best part of the trip.
The photos with the Fall colors were shot at pretty high altitudes on the Parkway and are not representative of how most of the Parkway is looking right now. I also pushed the color a bit in post. Fall is just getting underway up there, next week will be better and I am not sure that it won't peak until after that.
So.... I have never been one to be overly patient... (
