How are the fall colors, as of today ( 9-30-2022 )? schedule a trip, a while back: land in Albany, drive the path through several state parks such as Letworth, and the Scenic Byway, over to Niagara Falls, Every year, no matter where I head to, I am too early, too late, weather was too dry, weather was too wet, etc. I have the option to delay the trip if people advise me to do that. BTW, if there are any particular spots to shoot from, let me know; I have done a lot of research on Google.
Thanks in advance.

I cannot accurately report on the area you frequent, but in the "southern tier" of NY and the adjacent area of Pennsylvania, the colors are beginning now (10/1/2022). The sky is overcast and little or no rain predicted for the next six days, then only small probability for a day or so. I would say this may be the peak period for fall foliage in this area. If you make the trip now, I wish you luck. You may also may wish to extend your travels to thesouthern tier and include getting into northern PA around the Kinzua Reservoir area. That is a large area including much if the Allegany National Forest and some rolling hills and interesting overlooks.
