Awesome, but I especially love the one with the white bird's wings spread and the puny little "arms" visible (And I'm in no position to talk about puny little arms, but here I am) 🥇🏆🥇🏆🥇

Thanks, Joe. The sun was just right for that one.

I was in the woods trying to get a picture of my office managers three grandkids. Suddenly there was a rapid thumping on the ground and the sound of breaking branches. I was able to get this shot before I had to turn and run myself. She only has two grandsons now.

Thanks Photoshop! 😂😂

Great composite and composition

Hi, I was actually trying to get a shot of the new construction in the background when a few neighborhood skateboarders also showed up in the park...here's a few (strictly spontaneous) shots.

Many thanks to Bill for pinch hitting for Larry on Free Sunday. Great job, Bill. And also thanks to those who are taking on hosting for the October Challenges. It is very much appreciated.

Many of you know how to stop action and suspend water, people, birds etc. in mid air. The skills are a must for sports photographers, birds in flight - and wiggly children. The major settings involved are those of the exposure triangle: ISO, shutter speed and your aperture. High enough ISO, wide enough aperture and shutter speeds of 1/1000 or higher until your subject "freezes". It might be helpful if you included your Aperture, ISO, and shutter speed with your post - something I neglected to do when preparing for this challenge.

So, STOP the action and SHOW us your image and SETTINGS if you can.
Many thanks to Bill for pinch hitting for Larry on... (show quote)

Nice start off Pat - you really stopped the action!! Thanks for hosting!!

Here are a couple more from the air show in Lancaster and some "odds 'n ends."
