Great image!! Bob
That dam looks a lot sturdier than the earth fill dams we have around here.
JR, thank you for the compliment.
Personally, I'm not one to put things in my landscape photographs that weren't there. If the clouds had not been there, I probably wouldn't have made the short trip to the dam. If I had, it would have featured only portions of the dam and not much, if any, sky at all. Thanks again.

Without the clouds, I don’t think it would be much of a subject; however, in color I think it would have totally sucked. You had the eyes that saw it for the totality of the way light was playing with the shadows and geometry and saw the whole image. Now I’m wondering if the clouds were not there whether you could re create feeling with a cloud replacement in post with a subsequent conversion to monochrome. You may have just given me enough to work with to get off my lazy “okole” (did you catch that one JoAnneK01?) and go out and experiment. Thank you, Bob.🤓

That’s a nice one, Bob--enjoyed!
Bob: Your great pic puts me in mind of Margaret Bourke-White's 1936 pic of the Fort Peck Dam in Montana.
