you mentioned an ax or a hammer...do you have a gun
Yes, I have several of those. I really ate to dump this thing! It's a $500 printer and I won't do that again!!! Sad part is I just stocked up on new ink!!!! :-(
And there lies the problem. If you had hidden that ink away from the printer's view it would have behaved itself. These things happen after a machine is certain there's too much invested in it to discard it.
My '94 Ford Explorer acts like new when it's driven by a junk yard. If it doesn't start, I read used car ads in front of it.
I don't think machines are inanimate, they have a world of their own.
Now Jo, don't get yer dander up! (You look so calm and pensive in that avatar, I can't imagine you getting mad enough to use an ax.) If the backdoor entry doesn't give enough access to free it up, just calmly unplug it and take it out to the stable and say "Here Boys and Girls, stomp this thing to smitherines." Then don't buy another HP. Oh yes, come to think of it, I have an HP printer that you can have free, but I am way up here in Indiana and it's 25 degrees this morning!

Yes somebody finally asked that question. It was the last post, on page 1 of this thread.
Hey folks, please let me butt in with a different subject. I just turned on the computer and opened my mail to find out that a fraud alert had been put on my credit card last night, so I called this morning and a company using this address-- corsaircs.com had tried to bill my account for $2.50. If that would have been paid then they would wait a few hours and hit with the big charges. So, be careful and watch your accounts closely.
Jo, you might want to call HP tech support and see if they can help you.

I now have the world's worst paper jam ever seen by a printer. I've had some bad ones before, but I think the only way to reach this crumpled paper is with a hammer...maybe an ax. Any suggestions?
I had a problem with an Epson that I was about to give up on. Tugging on the paper got me no where. I could see some teeth on a couple of gears off to the side. Turned the larger gear gently in both directions and cleared the rest of the jam. The risk is breaking the teeth of a gear and then it's history. Might be worth a try.
Check with a computer repair shop before you dump the printer.
I have had some dandy paper jams and managed to get them loose with a long pair of tweezers. The ones I use have serrated tips and grip the paper quite well. Also if you can get a medical hemostat it should work quite well. Good luck and I hope uou are able to get it unjammed.
Don't you have a repair shop near you?
