Does the little green memory card light in the back resume blinking after you’ve turned it off?

I used a Pentax “Super Program” film camera for twelve years, and for twelve years I took the batteries out at night because that thing ‘ate batteries’. I never did find out why. Do send that one into Nikon, so you don’t spend twenty years wondering “why?”.

Two Nikon, one 3rd party, all about the same age.

Thanks for all the reply's, I guess the only option is to send it back to Nikon. Quite frankly I don't use it very often. Less than 8000 on the shutter count. I am more comfortable with my D5100. Looking back I'm not sure how I talked myself into buying this camera.

The longer you read UHH, the more expensive it gets.

UHH is what got me into all of this to begin with. Had an old Cannon SX10 and was convinced I needed the D5100. Should have left well enough alone.
I do have thousands of pictures of the grand kids.

Do the batteries drain in 12 hours with no lens attached?
Is there the slightest indication on the top lcd that indicates anything out of the ordinary?
Just trying to rule out the variables.
Good Luck

You may want to sell it at some time, so unless you plan to trash it soon, this may be the time to send it in to Nikon and get it fixed.

I have not checked with no lens attached. I will check that tomorrow. Nothing on the top screen that would indicate anything out of the ordinary.
When I sent it in for repair, I had decided to invest in the repair only so I could sell the camera. I can't sell it as is for obvious reasons. Once this
issue is resolved then I will sell it.

I don't know how much you paid Nikon for the last service but if you send it in very likely they will charge you (although in all fairness I think they shouldn't) some money. I wonder after that how much money you will get out of the D750?

The last service cost me $ 324 plus shipping $ 42.

I checked without a lens attached. Went from 95% to 31% in one hour.

They're probably going to say 'send it in', but you should call Nikon technical support first before sending.
