Beautifully done, Linda. I like the black border image.
Linda, I prefer the first shot. It stands on its own merits. IMO no need for the framing.

Thanks so much, Joe. I use a 13.3" MacBook Air that sits less than a foot from my face. Sometimes the new page-filling UHH "thumbnail" size is a little scary, so I'm starting to experiment with larger borders

Thank you Frank. The colors of this one seem to go with both the UHH mustard yellow and the black background you can get by just clicking on the image (rather than the download link), if you have that feature enabled in preferences.
For some photos, especially black and white, UHH's color scheme does no favors, so along with what I wrote to Joe above about size and my viewing distance, I will occasionally try larger borders
Interesting, Linda. I like it.

I appreciate your visit, John. Glad you enjoyed!
Very good Linda I prefer the first one as I think it has more impact with just a thin border...

Thanks so much, Val. Good to see you!
However you did it, it's beautiful.
This is really beautiful, Linda! Thank you for including your workflow. I only have Photoshop and LrC, but I really enjoy seeing what other programs can do. I love the contrast in your photo and how the tiny hairs really stand out. Also, the black frame was a nice touch. I love it!!

A Topaz Studio 2 filter helped make the wispy threads stand out. Feedback welcomed. I'll post the workflow as soon as I can find it; just did this a few days ago
Exceptional, Linda! I like the clarity of this image - the extreme sharpness. But I also wonder how it would look with a bit of softness, negative clarity.

Horizontal flip... two crossed pods are the beginning of what ends with the open pod. So crossed pods followed by the grand finale of the open pod.
