How could one possibly be offended by such beautiful images? Whether shot with a Nikon or a Canon makes no difference. I’m an old fart Nikon guy but shot with a Canon F1 in my football photography days. Canon was my client and I was the odd duck on the sidelines of Super Bowl XIV with a Canon outfit. That was the first year of Canon being “Photo Consultant to the NFL” and “Official Camera it the Super Bowl”. That strategy, that I put together with Canon and my employer, NFL Properties, was the beginning of it all. Ah, memories. I still have an “Officially Accredited Photographer of Super Bowl” plaque banging around in my workbench someplace.

A lot has changed and most of it not for the better. I'm getting so tired of this PC BS it makes me sick.

No matter what you say, someone, somewhere, will be offended. Many have given their lives for us to say what we want. It's up to everyone else to hear what they want to and let others do the same.

My god people, use your freakin' brains. Stop letting all of the loud mouths do your thinking for you.

Peace out, Bill

These are beautiful shots and if anyone is offended by these, why are you reviewing this section?
I suggest you stay with nature and outdoor photos. I also stated my opinion on this in 2019.

I guess I am one of the old guys. Upgraded my old D60 last year. Now I shoot a D7500 and I do have that 18-140 lens. At first I did not like it: However, now it is my go to lens. The 7500 is a tad over your stated budget but not much and plenty of room to grow. I also have an old D50 converted to infrared. Just a toy, but a fun toy. You may want to look. I learned to to not get in a hurry. This is a long time purchase. Get what you want and is close to the budget you set. Good luck.

If you commented in 2019, why drag the thread up again now to comment? The original thread started in 2016.

I am in the market for my first entry level DSLR in the $800.00-$1000.00 range.
Back in the 80's I shot 35mm on a Yeshicha FX-D with an assortment of lenses, but it bit the dust years ago.
Right now I have a point and shoot Sony Cybershot H2 that I use for eBay stuff.

I am willing to accept the kit lens 18-140 to start out with for convenience, however I would like to expand the lens selection as my experence and abilities progress.
Cost and selection of Canon/Nikon and aftermarket lenses will come into play.
I want to shoot family photos, portraits, landscapes, macro, wildlife and some sports, but not much
I have never shot video on a camera, but that might be a deciding factor as well.
No grandkids yet, but I can see where video would be great for capturing family moments.

I would like an articulating touch screen.
Good selection of inexpensive Canon/Nikon and aftermarket lenses.
Easy menu system for beginners, but with the capability of going full manual as I progress.
Touch to focus looks like it would be great for beginners.
Diopter adjustment for my eyesight.
I am trying to decide between the Nikon D5500 and the Canon T6s.
After watching this video I chose 8 of 12 photos in favor of the Canon, but does that mean it is the right camera?

Most of you guys on the forum are professional caliber photographers, but I can't afford that high dollar equipment.
I want a good camera foundation that can be expanded on as I learn more about the techniques that it takes to get professional results.
Having said that, there may be other/better options that I have overlooked?

Also, I have a beautiful wife that I would like get some creative shots of.
You know the type.
This is not meant to offend anyone, so if it is not appropriate please take them down

This is an old topic (2016?) by someone who stole and used other people's pictures. The OP has not posted for years and is probably no longer a member. It needs to be deleted before other people comment on it
