I go to Disney a lot. The 24-105 is fine except for Animal Kingdom where I’ve use the 70-300L and my 100-400 since I purchased it. You are going with a lot of family I’d look into the Disney photo pass so you can be in all the photos. I’m going in October with a large family and that’s what we are going to do.

My family (20 of us) will be going to Disney World in 3 weeks. I don't want to carry a lot of lenses. Which one Canon lens would you recommend to take with my R6?
RF 24-70 f/2.8L
RF 70-200 f/2.8L
RF 24-105 f/4L

Thanks in advance.

I would take the 24-105. 20-70 fast but not enough reach. 70-200 is heavy, unwieldy and not enough wide angle.
24-105 is the most versatile.

I don't think you could beat the Tamron (Canon probably makes one too) 16-300 - I like it a lot

Your post was condescending to say the least, ignorant at best!

If you start by saying that you are not trying to be disrespectful, does that mean you can be disrespectful without even trying? Not the greatest trait to be proud of.

I certainly had no intention of being condescending. I was asking a legitimate question. I was quite surprised that he would ask a question like that given his arsenal of possible lenses. I'm often at a loss to understand why some questions are asked of complete strangers here that could just as easily be resolved with a little self-reflection and self-assessment.

mwsilvers - I only own the 24-70L, so my real decision was do I spend money on a new lens to get better capability that the 24-105L lens offers which is why I asked the question. Based on everyone's input, I will purchase the 24-105L that I have been considering buying anyway.

Your original post suggested to me that you already owned all three lenses which is why I asked my question. If you had indicated you only owned the 24-70 and were considering purchasing one of the other two, my response would have been completely different. However, my recommendation to take the 24-105 would have been the same.

24-105 f4 and a 35/50mm 1.8 if you have one.

This sounds crazy, but make sure you have the latest cellphone. The cameras are really good and for the theme park type/family pictures that you are most likely to take, it would accomplish most of what you would want. I have a ProMax 13 and the pictures are really astounding. And if they are taken in raw format post processing is easily accomplished. If one would like to capitalize on a good shot, lens aberration software and Ai upscaling (gigapixel) will equal some of the higher resolution cameras.
Sometimes lugging a camera and bag is cumbersome and it’s cellphone fills in the gaps nicely.
However, if you are using your R6 my previous recommendation of the 24-105 is your best multipurpose lens to carry.

With 20 people going mount the 24-105 on the camera. Then have somebody else carry the 70-200 for you. They're family!!!

My advice: Don't Go! It is a horrible place, especially if you have kids or grandkids who will be getting tired and cranky by 2 o'clock or so, but it is so expensive that you want to squeeze as much out of your dollar (or hundreds of dollars...) as possible. By afternoon it is definitely NOT "the happiest place on earth"! Take plenty of Advil for yourself. We always liked SeaWorld much more than Disney because there are more interesting things to see. But if you go - take the 24-104mm lens. Definitely not worth lugging a heavier telephoto around all day. And the days of doing candid photos of strangers (without getting hassled or arrested) are long gone...

By the way - for any of you who insist on going to the amusement parks: there is one day of the year that is the best day to go to any of the amusement parks in Orlando. We learned this when the kids were little. We went to Disney one year and there was only about 25% of the usual crowd - only 5 minute lines for the rides - it was amazing. I couldn't figure out why - and then it dawned on me - it was Superbowl Sunday! We went back almost every Superbowl Sunday when the kids were young. Even if the Superbowl is in the evening, people are having backyard barbecues or they aren't traveling, so they aren't going to the theme parks.

I think you will be happiest with the 24-105mm. It should serve you well. Good luck.

I myself would take the 24-105.

I agree with the recommendation for the 24-105 as an excellent choice for this trip I wonder about something like a Tamron 16-300 for huge versatility without sacrificing weight or size. I truly am interested in what others think because I’m learning.

Definitely take rain gear. I was there last week and it doesn’t rain in drops. It rains in sheets…
