I still use a D7000. It's a good all around camera and does 90% of what I need to do. That was my first digital I've thought of a full format, but, the cost of a camera and new lenses.

The D7500 improves and adds features above the D7000. I'm thinking of getting a D7500 as an upgrade, because I won't have to buy all new lenses.

However mirrorless cameras have arrived. Switching over would be expensive, because none of my current lenses will work on it.

Thanks for making your inquiry about the D7500 Nikon, because I've been waiting for a (better deal), on the internet.
I borrowed my brothers Nikon D3400 because my old Nikon's auto focus failed. If i send it in for a repair, it could be half the cost (or more), of an new Nikon.
I'm staying with the Nikons because I have acquired so many lenes, and don't want to have to offer them up to the Thrift Store in town, like I did with my Canon DSLR.

Glad that so many have given positive feed backs for the 7500. Guess I'll have to wait until Christmas to give myself a gift.

If anyone has any negatives about the 7500, let me know. I'm still looking, but the "Mirror-less" Nikons are too out of my price range. I'm only a recreational photographer, (since 1962).
Blessings Nikon lovers.

I love mine Zeke. Great low light capability and very fast focus. I wish it had a second card slot but that’s minor. Check out my posts on Scotland and Ireland which were all taken with my D7500.

The D7500 is the best all around aps-c format DSLR Nikon made. I have one and can recommend it. It does everything well and is very light to carry. It may not be the best at everything, but the cameras that perform better are considerably more expensive and heavier.

I plan to buy one. Like the D3000 and D5000 families, and unlike the D7000-D7200, the D7500 takes the oldest pre-Ai lenses without modification. I wish I had the luxury to purchase the newest lenses, but for many things, I don't mind manual focus or shooting with manual or aperture priority.

Ai and Ais lenses are the best, great glass and who cares about shooting in manual no big deal and it makes you a better photographer in many ways.

I don’t know about the 7500 but I used to have the 7000. What I like tell you is that certain body (I use the810) are stronger like in focusing. The most d-Lenses I have are incredible on my 810. On the 7000 it was a hustle to use the Dlenses and same with newer models.

I would love all newer lenses, but on my budget I don't care to toss my 50/1.4, 105/2.5, and other pre-Ai NIKKORs just because I have to shoot manual which was how I learned anyway. Shooting manual didn't make me a better photographer, but a slower one, though more adept with manual cameras. Basically, I'm just cheap and like to use my old gear. Even aside from wanting to keep really old lenses, the D7500 is a major upgrade over the D3000/D5000 due to a better sensor and focus motor, even though it has fewer pixels which is rather insignificant. That's why I will go back to the store where I first tried it.

I really like my D-7500. Had it over two years and I still use it due to its ease of use. I cannot think of anything to trade it in towards; I already have a Z6 for full frame stuff that I might want to blow up for prints to exhibit, but for computer plain old viewing, or emailing, and even processing nicely in PhotoShop or Lightroom, the D7500 does just fine. More depends, I think, on the skill of the photographer, than the choice of camera. For fun, I even shoot 35mm b&w and color - Nikon film cameras are topnotch quality. Because I'm an equipment junkie, I also have a classic Leica IIf, and an Exakta 35mm, plus a chronological sequence of all the Nikon "F" series 35mm film cameras. They are/were so cheap it was not hard to do. Like I said, I love equipment! I stop short of having closets full of 'em, however LOL

I bought the D7500 when it first came out. Such a furor because it only had one SD slot which was a deal breaker for many. I loved the camera and would have it today if the Nikon 500 mm PF lens had come available. I was using it with the Tamron 100-400 mm lens but wanted more reach. But after waiting a year for that lens I finally sold the camera and changed to Canon for the 100-400 mm lens with extender. Biggest mistake I made buying the Canon 90D camera although the lens was great. As soon as the R6 came out I sold the 90D and good riddance! As I look back through my photos taken with the D7500 I am still satisfied with the camera and lens combo. I don't think you will regret buying that camera.

Thanks for the [positive] feed on the 7500 Nikon.

I've read enough about it to (really want to wait), till I can afford the camera and a 300 mm telephoto.

I like the fact that it has good references for it's "video" capabilities, as well.

My older Nikon has left the building. (The auto focus) has given up two years ago, and with
good vision as a thing of the past, I really need the auto focus. Otherwise, it's just another
out of focus shot, and (I have hundreds of those) from years ago.

Sometimes, even the badly focused shots, are hard to part with.

I upgraded to a refurb D7500 from my son's D7100 when I accidentally broke the lcd screen. Have been very happy with the camera. Have several primes but mainly use either Nikkor 18 - 140 or 18 - 300 as walking around lenses. I mainly shoot using the in camera scene modes, mostly portrait or landscape. I like the built-in flash, though limited in range. Single card slot has not been a limitation for me.

Only negative for me is the video mode. I find it difficult to use, so I rarely do. If I need a video, I use my phone.

Overall, very satisfied. Good luck!

I have a D7100 but got tired of the small buffer, so I got my 7500. It is great, except for the fact that Nikon dumbed it down a bit. But Nikon and all the camera mfg are moving away from DSLR into mirrorless.
It is a D500 light, and I am very happy with it.
I guess that there will not be a new 7000 series camera, so this is a good buy.
