In Japan; Sony overtakes Canon for market share – and OM System (Olympus) holds onto third. What do you think about this?

The Japanese love the form of the Oly cameras. There is a design elegance to them, particularly with the smaller bodied ones. When I see someone with one in hand internationally it is almost always a Japanese person who has one. We kinda wave at each other sometimes, like we're in a secret club. Headed there in April to be among like minded people (and to see the sites).
I'm in that club too! (However I'm not Japanese.)
Often people will make comments or questions about the OM-D. And that doesn't happen when I am carrying my Nikon.

Boy, look at that graph, both overall and the recent 2022 months especially. If I was the site's major Sony proponent, I sure would be worried about the downward direction of Sony in this Japan market, especially with Canon's two new APS-C releases not yet reflected in the data. I might even hesitate to provide this article publicly, lest my cred be questioned.
If I had a mirrorless camera system that doesn't appear on the graph, I'd be even more concerned ...

What the graph shows is Canon being able to start delivering the new products. There was never a lack of demand it was supply chain which is showing Canon recovering.
Let's see how things are the first of January 2023.

I must admit, if it wasn't for Mr. Williams bringing this to my attention I would have missed this important information. Now I'll be able to sleep better tonight.

I'm a Sony shooter and I have all the lenses and camera I need or want, so if Sony is first, last, or non-existent in the future, it matters not to me.

I admire them, and like Jay Leno has said, "I think there were the best cars ever made". But unlike Len, I could never afford to own one, LOL

I have all I need for my professional and personal work, but there will be some great, major ,and most useful performance advance, and I will sell some of what I have now and move on to better. That is how I roll. I have owned Sony A6500, A7RII, A7RIII, A7III, A9 and currently own A7RIV, A1, A7SIII.
I currently have 13 native E-mount lenses from 10mm to 600mm from Sony, Sigma and Tamron.
My gear are just tools and I will sell and update them to more useful tools if and when needed.
FYI, I was a pro Nikon and Canon user for over 40 years (both brands) before moving to Sony mirrorless in January 2017.
Cheers and best to you all.
