Paypal suspended my account years ago over a forgotten password and wouldn't reactivate it unless I sent them a copy of my driver's license.

So I no longer have a Paypal account.

I dumped PAYPAL recently because I could not access my account as i do not own a smart phone. The person to whom I spoke was very pleasant and offered that if I want access I would have to ring them, in USA, and they would give me a password. This would take place every time. So I canceled the account. I am able to access my bank whenever I need to do so.

I have never used PayPal with an phone or Tablet. I use my computer - laptop or desktop.

It isn't from PayPal is the point.

Correct. They send out mass messages, email, text and phone hoping to get to people who have various accounts, PayPal, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, a bank, and when they send email, the logos look legitimate. They want you to call fake numbers and give up personal information to straighten out some non-existent problem or a purchase that you didn't actually make. These messages have NOTHING to do with the businesses they claim to represent.

I am getting bombarded with scam emails recently.

I analyze the email before clicking on anything and forward it to what ever company they claim to be and report the spam so they can take steps on taking it down. Recently there is no return addresses in the email so you cannot identify who sent it. Only recourse is to delete it. Cannot block them either.

Started out using Norton and Mcafee. Claiming my credit my license is expiring and my credit card is no good. Now a bunch of others with the same patterns.

Getting worse.

I keep getting Paypal spam saying I've changed my phone number on my Paypal account. If was not you click this button. Hell with clicking a button on a totally false email. I go to Paypal and check my account, same phone number since I arrived in NH. Scam Scam scam. Just email Paypal, and report the email and forward it to then.

I have a feeling that PayPal can't do anything about these fake emails. They aren't the source, and even when you check to see who is really sending them, they may be using spoofed email accounts. They may be coming from out of the country.

Just got the text today from “PayPal” that my account was Restricted. I wonder at times about good ‘ol Mortimer from the Darwin Club.

(PayPal-Service : Account restricted. About your case check at mortimerdarwin.club/vncNTP ~)

I quit Pay Pal about 4 years ago when they successively changed the details of the "agreement" to requir access to my checking account and to allow them to sell my info. A dangerous combination , I thought!
