I got it. I use it. I love it. I wouldn't trade it.

Yep, that's why when I gave my wife my Lumix bridge camera (the best camera she's ever hoped to have) I told her the first thing you do when you pick up the camera is put the strap around your neck.

So true....I can't believe all the storys of people dropping very nice cameras down a mountain.......A $5 wrist strap can save you thousands of dollars.......sorry if I sound like a Geico comercial.....but in this case five minutes and $5.00 can save you thousands of $$$$$$$$$$$.

Most people here seem to be walking with their cameras. I ride a bike and need a strap that will hold the camera out of the way when cycling, perhaps at my back. Does anyone else cycle with a camera attached securely and easy to access? If so what do you use?

I use a tricycle......keeps me from falling over and busting up 5 grand worth of camera toys.

I made a DIY device with a strap w/ elastic for my chest , a couple of tabs on the front of the strap w/ hvy duty Velcro on it and a couple of squares of Velcro on either side of the camera. Strap around the neck and the strap holding to the chest is very secure for a bridge camera.
that does look very handy--I am using OP/Tech on 1 canon, but looking for something else for the other. Dangling at the hip isn't handy all the time
Thanks for sharing that site-----------
The other thing I like about the optech is I can switch straps in seconds. I have neck strap, the harness and a wrist strap. All use the same clips.

There is another strap you can buy to hold the camera close that I use when biking though I ride a recumbent.
http://optechusa.com/straps/stabilizer-strap.htmlI don't actually have this strap, I wish that I did. I made a homemade one that works ok, but I think this would be much better.
