I will have the opportunity to spend a week in Dallas at the end of the month and looking for photo ops. I've been researching the downtown area for skyline and street photography as well as the unique bridges. I also enjoy shooting waterfalls, wildlife, and action events. Wondering if anyone could offer suggestions. I found rodeos in Fort Worth but couldn't determine the camera restrictions. I don't mind driving to locations if necessary... thanks in advance

When wanting to photograph events like a rodeo my practice is to email them in advance asking about their photography policies. There usually is a POC or email link on their website. Assuming photography is allowed, I print out the response. It comes in handy if I get questions coming into the venue with camera and gear.

Wonderful... this should keep me busy all week. I will have my son and daughter with me. Hopefully we'll be safe at night. Thanks again everyone

Not far from there are the Palo Pinto mountains (more like really big hills).

Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas provides great street shooting opportunities with regular events on the lawn and stage, water fountains coming up from the ground that kids run and play in, and well lit buildings towering all around at night. The park has always felt safe to me and is an everyman's venue with all races and economic levels well represented. Consider this another big warm welcome.

Thanks, I'v been warned about the high temps. I live in Tennessee where the temps have been fluctuating between 90-93... I thought this was bad. The Fort Worth stock yards really look attractive. I would really like to take in a rodeo.

I ve been to the stockyard rodeo in FW twice in the past 2 years. Went to Mesquite redeo also in that time frame. I took ample photos at each venue with several cameras in tow. No restrictions. Lighting is medium to bad. High iso essential to offset faster shutter speed when capturing fast action, but it's nothing that can't be dealt with if you know what you're doing with technique and PP.
