My proposal goes further than individuals convicted of felonies. For instance, threatening using a gun would probably get you a misdemeanor, but it should, at least, get your guns taken away.

I stated that there were some misdemeanors which could cause you to lose your 2nd Amendment rights. And people have guns confiscated regularly for those type convictions. However, most misdemeanor convictions will eventually allow an individual to redeem their 2nd Amendment rights after a period of time, depending on the state. Felonies, on the other hand, most always require a pardon and full restoration of rights.

Many European, Asian and other world countries have far and away less mass shootings than we do. Why is that?

Because they are more civilized than we are, no other reason.

Mostly because they don’t have an education system devoted to indoctrination to cultural Marxism and also because they have a far more homogenous population. The fewer the subdivisions, the more difficult it is to foster hatred and division from ‘others’. Angry, unhinged people, immersed in delusion are the ones doing the shooting.

I’ll also wager that single parent home and drug use data will provide another reason.

I agree. They also don't have the media stirring the descent pot at every word. I would like to know how many people are beat up daily and stabbed. My buddy who I buy sapphire from says it's very dangerous after dark in the city.

I live in Australia but I won't buy into your gun law debate; I just want to let you have some data.

https://bond.edu.au/news/70723/homicide-rise-australia-should-we-be-concerned

The significant part is.

"The homicide rate in 2019–20 was 1.02 incidents per 100,000 people, the highest rate since 2012–13. Within these incidents the rate of domestic and stranger homicides increased, while the rate of acquaintance homicide decreased for 2019-20."

"Provisional data from the United States show a dramatic increase in the US murder rate in 2020. It rose from six homicides per 100,000 in 2019 to 7.8 per 100,000."

Although the figures area bit dated they are still quite interesting.

The last significant gun massacre, that I can recall, was in 1996, when 35 people were killed. This incident prompted the gun recall.

It is not for me to do any comparisons; I will leave it to you guys in USA.

Thanks for being cordial. The difference in gun laws, while neither explaining everything nor necessarily causation, is connected to governmental policy and enforcement. Certain jurisdictions threatened to build and populate unvaccinated camps here, but Australia did it. Media brought us great deals of imagery about the violent arrest of old women, people outdoors alone, and varied other non-threats being handled as the Gestapo would.

Believe it or not, police in my rural community flat out said no to policing outdoor Covid restrictions, as they knew SOMEONE would have to employ a gun, as those in parks, on farms, or grilling in their own yards would be armed.

Liberty requires defense and it requires risk. To diminish risk diminishes liberty.

The unvaccinated camp (singular) to which you refer was in the early stages of the pandemic and the camp was a sophisticated and very comfortable complex, previously used as a mining camp. The entrants each had separate air-conditioned rooms with a good quantity and quality of food provided, all free. The camp was only used for an individual to isolate for 14 days upon coming into Australia, returning Aussies or others. Some have likened it to a Nazi concentration camp, but that is misguided and actually it is the height of the ridiculous. I cannot comment any further on that aspect, as it is just so despicable to make any such comparison.

When Australia was sure that any who had the bug were no longer a threat to the populace, then they were welcomed. It was a condition of entry and accepted by those entering the country. Just a condition of entry, same as giving up the drugs, guns, kiddie porn and other bits that we do not need in this country.

And your defense of the 10 or so links citing violent action against citizens who are supposedly free in the link below?

The following is a quote from the article that you linked.

“Several recent incidents raise serious concerns that Victoria’s police are taking excessive or disproportionate action against suspected lockdown violators.” As far as I can recall, the proposed law of preventative detention was not enacted; thus I see no reason to crucify the whole country for some errant ideas that never came into force.

Wow, several incidents in one particular state in Australia during an initial crisis period. Okay, police can get a bit heavy-handed at times in every country of this world. I don't know if the USA has a problem with profession agitators and protesters, but in our major cities there is a small group of pests that attend every rally, regardless of what the rally may be about.

Sorry, but this is the end for me as we have drifted far away from the intended topic.
