Many European, Asian and other world countries have far and away less mass shootings than we do. Why is that?

They choose bombs, Trucks, Cars, Knives, Baseball bats, and such, these are far easier to get in those places.

For openers, in Australia the average citizen does not have (legal) firepower as good as the military or the police.

Legal semi-auto ownership is doable but tightly controlled.

Australia Enjoys Another Peaceful Day Under Oppressive Gun Control Regime

https://www.betootaadvocate.com/world-news/aus-enjoys-another-peaceful-day-under-oppressive-gun-control-regime/ (satire)

Due to the nation’s controversial and oppressive gun restrictions, no one has died as a result of a mass-shooting from an automatic or semi-automatic weapon on Australian soil today, for the 9,523rd day in a row.

Christina Upton says the peaceful two decades that have followed are “probably” because the Australian government decided to strip her of a God-given right to own projectile weaponry capable of shooting down helicopters.

This year there have been more mass shootings in America than calendar dates… But it wasn’t that long ago that Australia had postal workers holding their entire office hostage with AR-15s”

Ms Upton, who claims to be able to walk freely outside of her home without fear of being k**led by a mass shooter, believes that God-given rights probably play a bigger role in America’s mass shootings than Americans think.

“I don’t think America should be so hard on itself about the mental state of thousands of lonely white losers. We have those people too,”

“…Just in our country those people don’t have access to Russian-made automatic assault rifles that have been invented purely to help military personnel win wars,”

“If I was in America, I’d be terrified of working in a cinema – for fear that one of these losers would use their God-given rights to murder me in cold blood,”

Local Betoota cop, Rick, says that this is because i***ts have a harder time getting their hands on machine guns than criminals.

“I think America needs to realise that it’s not really the criminals and gangster you need to worry about as such. I’d be more concerned about the indoor types”

“Criminals use guns to help their efforts in making money through crime – they have much less interest in k*****g you for the sake of it,”

“Weirdos use guns to shoot up medical centres and primary schools for no reason other than the fact that they want to use their God-given rights,”

“In Australia. Our weirdos are forced to write stern letters,”

Attention nomenclature nerds: semi-auto firepower is plenty good enough to assault and k**l many many unsuspecting victims.

You have just lit the dynamite fuse I would stand back now and wait for the silly, childish unbelievably nieve redneck response.

And it is cultural combined with terrible public education with no discipline.

I have made the suggestion that laws be enforced and even more put in place that anybody using a gun in ways not specified by the 2nd Amendment should be arrested, possibly jailed, and have their guns taken from them.

Mostly because they don’t have an education system dev**ed to indoctrination to cultural Marxism and also because they have a far more homogenous population. The fewer the subdivisions, the more difficult it is to foster hatred and division from ‘others’. Angry, unhinged people, immersed in delusion are the ones doing the shooting.

I’ll also wager that single parent home and drug use data will provide another reason.

That happens all the time. When one is convicted of a felony, or certain misdemeanors, they lose their Second Amendment rights. There are systems in place to ensure this happens. However, as with all "systems", they are only as good as the error-prone humans making the appropriate entries. In Charleston, SC, a murderer was able to buy a pistol and murder folks at a church. A total screw-up by clerks, kept a felony conviction from going into the Federal system.

In the case of the a-hole murderer in Highland Park, IL, his father signed off on the punk's FOID card application. In Michigan, the murdering punk who k**led four students at Oxford HS, used a pistol his parents bought for him. The father has likely violated Federal firearms law by making what amounted to, a straw purchase. He lied on the 4473 form. Lying on the 4473 form is a Federal felony, yet very few are prosecuted for the crime.

The nations you mention have never fought for and won their freedom. Most are among the worst sports fans on Earth. Losses are excuses for r**ting. If you insist on comparing things in America with similar items in other places you have no idea what freedom means. Nothing costs more and nothing means more. Every piss-ant fiefdom on the planet comes running to America when their disdain for firearms interferes with their social agendas and bad guys threaten. Might be reasons for that.

My proposal goes further than individuals convicted of felonies. For instance, threatening using a gun would probably get you a misdemeanor, but it should, at least, get your guns taken away.

If you find a taker, I'll wager with you that you are absolutely right.

I can live with a form of if you make credible threats and convicted then guns are confiscated.

Since most DGU's are unreported, your proposal would also include showing the gun for a defensive purpose.
