However, twice or three times in the past 8 or 9 years I have received text messages similar to the first message you mentioned. I did not click the included link(s), nor respond to the messages in any way.

Periodically, I receive text messages with "your confirmation code", from FB, alledgedly, which is supposed to allow me to access my FB account, again (yeah, that's right, that account I've never ever had).

I've always chalked it up to a phishing attempt by someone without good intentions.

Everything I've ever heard about facebook makes me happy I don't have it.

There's no doubt someone hacked my Facebook account. A fake Facebook ad account was created. But I still believe it's Facebook who disabled my account because the hackers posted something which violated Facebook's terms of service. But because my account is disabled, I can't report the hacking to Facebook until they review that.

I got the following email from Facebook;

"John, you have 30 days to take action. Your Facebook account has been suspended. This is because some of your posts or comments don’t follow our Community Standards. If you think we suspended your account by mistake, you have 30 days to disagree with our decision. If you miss this deadline your account will be permanently disabled."

There was a button saying "disagree with decision" which I pushed. Then I got another email saying there was a problem with my Facebook ad account and I needed to verify payment. But I don't have and have never had a Facebook ad account. So I assume someone hacked my account, opened an ad account and posted something that violated the terms of service. The emails looked to come from authentic Facebook addresses, and when I went to Facebook my page had this notice:

"Review requested
If we find that your posts or comments didn't follow our Community Standards, your account will remain disabled.
We're always looking out for the security of people on Facebook, so while your posts and comments are reviewed you can't use Facebook."

Facebook doesn't have a customer support number or email that I could find to report the hacking. I found some support online, but it always leads back to my blocked home page. I can't believe there isn't a way to report to them that my account has been hacked. It has been two weeks now and I haven't heard anything else from them. Has anyone else had this experience, and what did you do? I only use Facebook to keep up with some family and friends, and a couple Facebook groups. I haven't even made any posts for a long time.

Do you believe you might have posted controversial comments on Facebook? Just ignore it. I get crap like that in my inbox all the time and just ignore them.

I haven't posted anything on Facebook for a long time, I mostly use it to follow family and friends who post stuff. And anything I have posted in the past was not controversial. But now my Facebook page has been disabled, by Facebook or by the hackers, and there seems to be no way to report that to Facebook.

I have found it useful to use a browser to go to the site the email is supposedly from. For example, the email says it is from Amazon. Instead of REPLYing, I open my browser.

Firefox browser has an add-on that now makes it safe to go on Facebook. It keeps FB from grabbing certain info when you navigate to it.

I did go directly to Facebook on my browser, and my actual page has been disabled, and has a notice of terms of service violation. Others can see my page, but all the information has been removed. It is impossible to reply to an email from Facebook - all their emails are no-reply.

John, would this one be worth a try for you, if you have not previously tried it?

Maybe you can go through a help procedure with FB without having to initially trying to log into the account you are locked out from.

What I have discovered is that with my Facebook page disabled, I can't access their help center. It just keeps going back to my disabled page.

Sorry, not trying to pester you at all.
Like I mentioned earlier, I don't do FB, so it's a little like walking blindfolded for me. It just seems there must be some available process, or the resulting backlash of those with account problems would sink their fan base like the Titanic.

This seems to be a step-by-step guide that does not require being logged in to your account to get going.

I did not make note of another site address at the time, so not sure right now where the statement is made, but one site stated accounts not recovered within 30 days will be permanently closed by FB, with no possible recovery after that. (I know you mentioned earlier this had happened a little while back, not just recently.)

As I have repeatedly said, I can't access Facebook help because my Facebook page has been disabled, and any link I try from Facebook help just leads back to my disabled page.

I found it to be wise to "ALWAYS" look at the URL address of any "doesn't smell right" email messages. These rat bastards are masters at making us think that there is something important that we must take immediate action on. A "click here" sends an address redirect action in a blink of an eye and can end in a sad experience....and it is not a fortune you will receive for assisting a Nigerian Prince in getting his fortune out of the country.

In your example, FIRST go to your Facebook account and make note of the URL address. Then compare it against the URL address of the message...without...clicking on it to open it. You most assuredly will see that they are not the same which indicates that someone somewhere is phising for someone that they can hook.

Also...never, ever, never let someone have remote access to your computer when you receive a message that you did not solicit before receiving the message.

Also, I was going to mention, (may be of interest to those who use the two-step verification mentioned in the link --https://www.lifewire.com/help-my-facebook-account-has-been-hacked-2487299 -- from my previous post) the two-step verification is apparently not absolutely impervious to hackers, either.

I'd had a gmail account at one time that was setup with the "security" of the two-step verification. Any attempt to login to the account sent a text and verification code to my mobile phone which had to have a return response within 60 or 120 seconds....don't recall which.
Well, the account was compromised in some way, don't know if it was actually accessed, and I was shut out....I did not ever receive any texts associated with the two-step login, except those connected to every time I personally logged in, as to be expected.

Going through google's report/recover steps totally failed. The hacker(s) had somehow changed the two-step verification second step to have gmail send the verification code to some other email address to which I have no association/connection. (Changing that second step is aledgedly only possible by someone who is logged into the account.)
After many efforts to get assistance from google, but always being told I had to have access to that other e-mail or no help, I finally told them goodbye with your ineffective two-step "security" and ineffective recovery setup.
