The Ed Koch Bridge at 59th St. was directly in line with the blossoms, which at first I thought was going to make it difficult to get some decent shots. Not so, I discovered this morning when I started processing.
I have probably two dozen or more shots like the first, which is typical of fireworks. With the other two, I tried for a different look.
There was a Southwest breeze pushing the smoke over Roosevelt Island and at times obscuring some of the display. It also made for some interesting colors. The light reflected on the river and the river traffic helped me decide to show these.
On the lower right, you can see the cars parked on the southbound FDR to view the fireworks.
