Interesting, Jerry. Admittedly, I always have been quite different from most. I never have had a lot of friends - because I didn't want a lot. I would have one "friend' with whom I could talk basketball; another, motorcycles; another, computers; and so on. There have been very few with whom I could talk about anything! Additionally, when I moved from one area to another, even, say, within the City of Los Angeles, my friends in the previous area would think I had dropped off the edge of the earth, because I would just make new friends in the new area. And I do have to admit, most of them probably could more precisely be identified as acquaintances. But that's the way I like it! I have too many things of interest to me, to spend much time in idle chatter. My first wife believed she owed conversation to anyone who wished to talk with her. I, not so. I'm generally silent if there's nothing to say.
