I have a washboard, for some reason, but I use a washing machine to clean clothes. Then I hang them on the line, usually when it's above freezing outside. When it's cold out, I use the electric dryer, and the heat blows into the house.

My mother had one. Here in the UK it was called a posser.

Thanks, appreciate the responses.

How sure are you? I've found agitators online, but nothing that looks even vaguely like this thing.

And why the plate inside the funnel part? What would be the point of the funnel?

Mother used to have exactly like your photo

It's a "Munchkin parade helmet" worn in celebrations where the Munchkins would march and sing before the Great Wizard. It also protected them from alien mind control. I still wear mine on special occasions.😜

I used a toilet plunger. Clean one, of course.

Since Kyburg is Swiss, it could be possible that this device has some function in the making of cheese.

To me, it looks like an antique sieve. What you mash berries in to get the juice funneled into jars or large pots for making jelly.

Here's a picture shown of a sieve on Google images but it doesn't have the funnel on it.

Made of aluminum, it appears to have a disk of some kind inside it, and is about 10" in diameter at it's widest point and 12-13" high.

It's a mini UFO, of course 😱😱😱😱😱

Yep, looks like a posser to me, too.:

just search for antique posser

Kyburg is a city in Germany, so German, or made by a German I bet.
