[quote=jerryc41]My Rode mic (2011) is held in place with a bunch of black rubber bands about half an inch long. Yesterday, I saw that most of them were broken. Unfortunately, there seem to be no replacements available. I'll have to try to rig up something on my own to hold the mic in place. It's the Rode VideoMic, similar to the one below, but the body, controls, and mount are different. I'll have to look into buying a new mount for it.
EDIT: I see that Adorama has a used one identical to mine, but I'm not going to spend $70 for rubber bands.
Jerry, take a look a these rubber bands, hope they may work.

Thanks. That's a nice assortment, but they're way too wide. Rode used 3/8" long rubber bands shaped like a figure eight. I'll have to make my own with the elastic string I ordered.

I’ve been getting a new size of rubber bands on electronic cords that come with devices. They’re about .5” in diameter and come in black and white. I may have a few around if you’re really in need.

The purpose of the rubber is vibration isolation, so the thickness and the hardness of the rubber are part of the design, and others such as o rings may be harder and less effective. Have to tried Rode tech support?
You might find a variety at office supply store or even some elastic cord at a hobby/fabric shop. I just took off two unique rubber bands off a bunch of asparagus. Wouldn't that be a hoot if they worked!
